ICQ or MSN?

I remembe when "do you have icq?" was probly the most common quetion at partys... finaly hooked it up and learned to jugle 10 conversations at a time.
And now ive finaly given into msn and almost perfer it? Well only kind of.

but yeah... I miss those old icq days... life's so quite now :(

Pros:

- Everyone's using it now.
- Better personalized features than ICQ.

Cons:

- Shitty service sometimes.

what are you talking about? icq is an extremely powerful instant messaging client and always has been.

msn is so dumbed down that it reminds you that whenever someone sends you a message, that they're "saying" something to you.

icq you can let it sit on the side and it wont get in the way of windows you have open

msn is fuqin nasty looking that covers your windows u use

icq has resume and multiple file sends.

i prefer icq bcus it has way better skins, looks alot cleaner, and fuqin msges dont pop up automatically!!!!

What I mean is ICQ (not ICQ lite, which I've never tried) uses up more space. All the logs eat up space, and ICQ with all its skins makes performance-handicapped computers like mine laaggg. MSN runs smooth like a baby, last time I ran it.

Also, with this new patch that my sister and all my friends have been harping about MSN looks pretty spiffy. More spiffy than ICQ ever was.

Plus, MSN has more features...bla bla bla...MSN is better...bla bla bla...

go.icq.com is the only thing I find useful because not all the computers at Douglas College have MSN or ICQ installed. Until MSN develops something like that, I'm gonna hang onto my ICQ contacts for now.

Multiple file sends? Well, I don't think many people have to worry about that.

MSN for me... the newest version (version 6.something) has some pretty crazy features to it and isn't so intrusive.

I do like ICQ though and in fact, just re-installed it.

i've been using msn 6 for about a week now. the new features are cute, and fun at times (avatars), but are pretty much fluff. i would have loved it if they beefed up the file transfer engine a bit, as retarded as it is. possibly even introducing a messaging mode. sometimes i talk to 5 or 6 people at once, and all the flashing bars make me dizzy. plus, it severely eats up my taskbar space.

as for all of you who say that icq is bloated, you're 100% correct. but to deny that msn isn't bloated is downright ignorant.
