carbon fibre has a diffuse reflection rather than a specular reflection that you'd get with a traditional paint job. the light gets scattered everywhere making for a very uniform appearance in texture and colour. in addition, the reflections from bright objects appear larger and less distinct. in contrast to the rest of the body, which acts almost like a mirror, the carbon fibre stands out creating the effect that people desire.

now, while a traditional high-quality paintjob will not be able to reproduce these effects, an extremely shitty one will. the effect is caused by an uneven and unpolished surface. any highschool bodyshop filled with unskilled students can give you this same effect for free.

Not everyone. Some owners leave it stock and use it for the purpose they bought it for... economical transportation.

The people that decide mod it either want it for speed or are a poser.

As I said before... I'm biased.

I greatly admire people who can modify their for performace and keep the look quite stealth.

Some ground effects are fine but from 20 feet the car just looks sweet without the need to draw any attention to itself with stickers and crap.
