and shit yeah, the sublink, i have them all still at my parents house in calgary. you remember the Doc? that dude was rad.

my punk days were at the black lounge mostly. i loved bugging the u of c dorks back then, haha. and the attic? damn, i haven't heard that word in so long. it was always fun in there.

if you are a playground local in kensington, you would remember Lido's for sure then, haha.
SKATEJUNGLE was dope! The wharehouse space at the back was sooo awesome for all-ages punk shows. GOOD TIMES! Crazy.

I remember the original Republik was on 9th Ave, just off 4th St. Too young to go in the original haunt tho.

Lido Cafe? Course. HOTWAX!! That place has been there for ages. That Chicken place (can't remember the name) on the corner 14 St/Kensington. Skating Riley Park.

RECORDLAND in Inglewood - the GREATEST used record store in fucking western Canada? I go there when i'm back in Cowtown. ANY CRATE DIGGERS on the board - go to RECORDLAND in Calgary. You'll plan entire trips around their hours.

Also when everybody at the Wharehouse (alternagoth types) danced the same. When Calgary rednecks called you a fag for going there too....

-TEAM SACRIFICE?
-TEAM LOST?
-when Freewheelin' was across the street from the Stampede grounds.
- oh and catching the ORIGINAL...wait for it.....BONES BRIGADE tour in '88 at the old arena next to the SaddleDome!! BOH!

In the general world...

I remember when phone calls were a dime
I remember when kids bus fare was a dime (in Montreal)
I remember when call waiting didn't exist
I remember being in grade 5 when the first of my friends got a VCR and how cool (and BIG) it was
I remember my first concert (Hall & Oates)
I remember my second concert (Cyndi Lauper)
I remember when partying like it was 1999 was still 17 years away (and utterly unfathomable)
I remember when freindship was more than a passing phase
I remember Cop Killer by Body Count
I remember Elephant Laces
I remember seeing Star Wars in the theatre with my dad in '78
I remember when remembering was easier and shorter
