Okay I'm not old - but I'm old enough to have a giggle at all of this none of us are old enough to know shit about real punk it's dead, it's gone - let it go the 20 year old laughing at the 18 year old ..like 2 years gives anyone more punk authority ;) Punk is like rave Ok - long gone are the days that people can cal it some underground counterculture the beauty about this day and age in this city is everything is pretty mainstream -- Being UNIQUE is too Fashion is a recycling business it all comes and it goes and then it comes back again in a new color or with a bigger zipper and a new fabric People can be stylish and trendsetters no matter where they shop - it's all about what you rock it with |

I bought mine a year and a half ago!!! And Kelly's right, it's all about how you rock 'em...I have two pairs of higher slingbacks, one pair of boots, and one pair of lower slingbacks and they're HOT! Obviously they'll look el-lame-o if you wear them with the wrong outfit, but if it all fits together then you've got one hot mammy on your hands! |

fashion is a complete farce. any dumbass with a credit card can look put together and keep up on trends. to act like an expert is weak. it's like math, it's something you learn, it's not a special skill to read magazines and keep your eyes open.

reading magazines will show you the cool ITEMS to wear, but not how to wear them as a full outfit. trust me I see girls all the time whose outfits probably total $2000+, but they still look like shit |

but there are general guidelines to follow when attempting to look fashionable ie. don't wear ankle books with a 3/4 length skirt, match your accessories and bag to your shoes, don't match your eye makeup to your shirt, etc some people have a sense of fashion (and they know it) and others don't (some know it, some don't). IMO, the worst is when they think that they look hot and stylin', meanwhile they really look like a big jumbled confused mess! If you don't care about fashion, that's fine, it's purely obvious who does and doesn't care. But, to me it only makes sense that if you're going to spend a whackload of money on 'trendy' clothes that you pull them off properly! |

the deal with Bluenotes, the real deal be they are trying to be the most inovative store on the market. The liscened tee's are not made by their company, they are streching, they are buying lables in hopes to survive. Now that they are under new ownership they are reaching for ways to make bluenotes a store that will survive on its own-without being an American Eagle discount store. They've endorsed two bands, Crowned King and Lillax, these stars are on posters wearing BN clothing all over the stores and are even on the bags. Bluenotes is trying to follow certain trends, but also set new trends. The thing that is moderatly cool about the store is the fact that their stuff can fit in with your other clothes and look good. Mix and match with BN material dont front an entire Bluenotes outfit. They are not trying to be punk. They carry Eminem shirts and jungle shorts. They are trying to appeal to teens and tourists. They are trying to be more updated. They carry the pleaded skirts and wrist bands, they carry whatever the fuck they think will sell. Then when it doesnt they mark it down to 99 cents so it goes away. I hate the trucker hat trend, i will never think that is cool and Von Dutch is sooo cheesy, like who the hell is Von Dutch?? Anyway, my point, Bluenotes is testing the waters, they want to be known for diversity...but they also want 14 year olds to come in and buy. Aside from all this, they are a jean store and these pants arent bad. They want their jeans to sell to whoever, everyone, the middle aged man to the college student...anyone can find a fit- is their mentality. Clearly, they want to make money but by being funky and unique they feel they can win our hearts with this 'stick it to the man' ideology. Who knows? I figure they will be sold soon...and then who knows..i personally know that they could be making a little more dough, yet i dont know how things have been going lately.
whatever. who cares. One thing that WAS cool, was the no lable moto..now they carry lables..but im not a fan. FU lulu lemon...and Nat as great as i think you are, the blue marlin shit they got in was ass. Personally im not a fan of red sweatpants with big stars on the butt...and i love stars...the stuff went to the back and was put on sale, no one buys the lables at BN because it is known for as a cheap store and lables are too expensive to be in there. They have uped the priced i think 15% from the orginal mark...but who knows if its enough to keep them rockin'. All i know...is that in store music has got to go. |
