in regards to this situation, if the counterfeits were introduced in the distribution channels, then a thorough collection of inventory/sales records should be undertaken. one should hope that accurate accounting was done prior to the event, especially considering the known danger of counterfeiting. if it was, this will greatly speed up the investigation and hopefully lead to the prosecution of those at fault. if not, the investigation will be slow, resource intensive, and possibly lacking enough hard evidence to lay any charges. in the meantime a couple hundred ravers are left out in the cold and someone takes a warm vacation down south. tbc... |

the whole nite seemed to quite disastrous for promoters as well as the party people. in regards to the counterfit tickets....no one should be pointing figures at anyone until a thorough investigation has been conducted. cops and security were probably having a power trip that nite....or there could have actually been counterfit tickets...the fact is that tickets weren't scanned like they were suppose to.....if there is a barcode you scan it...that's regular procedure...if your ticket scans in...you're are in, simple as that. i don't understand how po po and security thought they had the right to eye a ticket and dismiss the ticket as real or counterfit. how can they tell. if it looked different...how would they know what the original one looked like??
the lineup was quite enormous.....longest i've seen at plaza in a very long time. but i'm sure the lineup could have been sped up if it was managed properly. the ticket/vip booth was a horrible....whoever was running it at the beginning didn't know what they were doing...and were very rude to the people in line, which are people who are guests of the party....and people who wanted to purchase vips, definately uncalled for. things worked alot better when jenn.....someone who actually knows what she's doing took over....even though she was not suppose to work that nite. thank god she did because there would have been more angry people then there already was. disastrous nite outside....but wicked party on the inside....let's see what the pigs can figure out. The girls at the ticket booth did the best they could under the circumstances. Yes... it was disorganized. But when you're in the middle of finding out there are several hundred (I don't know the exact amount this is just a guess) conterfeit tickets floating around and you have to sort it out being nice to people is the last thing on your mind. Buying "VIP" tickets or not it doesn't matter in that kind of situation. Even guestlist was shut down for a while and that's 100% understandible given the circumstances. Shitty some rich bitch people couldn't buy their special expensive "VIP" tickets night of at 11pm-12am... sucks to be them. Maybe if they want people to be more polite to them they should respect what said people have to say about line ups and about NOT selling any more tickets while they delt with a conterfeit problem. Did they? Hell fucking no. They all stood around bitching and wanting to buy tickets while Ryan and I politely tried to inform them that there were no tickets for sale and the line that was being formed was for guestlist ONLY. We were ignored and given dirty looks and the people still stood by belligerently and therefore causing more crowd control problems for police and security. As far as this whole ordeal goes... everyone should really shut the hell up and quit pointing fingers. This is fraud... a police matter... and dumb raver rumour mill heresay will only fuck things up more. So until Kraig can tell us what he knows (when/if he is allowed to so don't go bugging him or bitching at him because this isn't his fault and he may not be able to tell you anything as it is a police investigation) I suggest we all the shut the fuck up on this matter. Kraig will let us know what's up when he can... he's already told us as much and if you don't know him I can tell you as fact he will keep his word. |

Alright people enough with the pointing finger and blaming the cops. The fact of the matter is this that there were a major screw up. Should there have been better security measures for scanning tickets instead of just looking at them with their own eyes? Definitly. However, this is over and done with. I understand that people are still upset, frustrated and want to know what is going on with this situation. Kraig will keep us all informed as much as he possibly can. There is a police investigation underway and I expect that the cops will go through every single detail and evidence that they can find and obtain from all the promoters. I agree with Lamzwell and babyshortie about a couple of things:
1.) At the beginning of the night that the ticket booth was highly disorganized. 2.)There are barcodes there for a reason and yes there should have been a scanner regardless of the situation whether it works or it doesn't it would've made things a lot more efficient. Whether the cops and the security guards were power tripping or not they should've explained clearly to the the general public why their ticket was counterfeit or not by having another staff member CLEARLY explaining why their ticket was counterfeit instead of just leaving them on the side and leaving them with more questions then they had at first. At this moment in time we cannot blame any of the production companies or Plaza until this situation is thoroughly investigated. Until than people I'm sure all sides are willing to cooperate with the police to make sure this matter is sorted out correctly. Cheers. |

But I'm sure that barcodes can actually be used to verify tickets in a secure manner if they so wish to do so. |

i bet it was a promoter who did this, cuz if it was just some guy they wouldnt be able to do it plus they wouldnt have anything to gain. |
