get a flat iron by ceramix cost ya about 130-175 for it but its well worth it.get the bio silk smoothing serum. its important that you use the flat iron on your hair FIRST before putting ANY PRODUCT IN IT. if u do it bass acxkwards your gonna fuck up ur flat iron and youll be throing away 130-175 dollars.

for curls use l`anza zero weight volume gel& l`anza root effects, you`ll need a blow dryer with a defuser. As for hairspray to use on curls get aussies sprunch spray

when your hair is gross and poofy and way overly abused I think the best bet is to cut it as short as you feel comfortable and let it grow.. and leave it alone! unless of course you dont mind dead hair. But that's what I did and now my hair is b-e-a-utiful

get the futura hair straightener..
it has a built in comb..
it works w/ the natural moisture in ur hair, causing steam wen u straighten it..
also, it has an on and off switch.. so u dont have to set any certain tempreatures.. it gets hot enough.
flat metal plates.. w/ ceramic inside
it doesnt make ur hair stif looking..
it makes it look healthy..
then use kms hair serum .. u only need abit of it..

viola.. healthy looking straight hair..

this works well if u got thick, curly hair :).. like me

Also, I have thin, limp, dead-straight hair, and a few flyaways that don't like to cooperate.

I shampoo and condition with Brilliant Brunette shampoo and conditioner (I love this stuff, keeps my colour so rich), put Brilliant Brunette shine serum on my hair while damp, then spray damp hair with Straight Sexy Hair smoothing spray, comp it through, blowdry, straighten with iron (just to make it super smooth and extra shiny) then spray a tiny bit of the Sexy Hair stuff on my palms and smooth over the roots and ends of my hair to prevent flyaways.

I have wavy-curly hair naturally. It requires encouragement to curl nicely or to be straight. It will always have wave to it until I straighten it. My routine is:

1. Bain de Terre Kiwi shampoo & Lavendar conditioner - They are moisture rich and protect your coloured hair. Bed Head Dumb Blonde is also awesome (the conditioner is one of the best). Well conditioned hair is how to start!!!

2. Apply Redken Anti-Snap leave-in treatment, Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum, to moisturize, protect and help with frizzies

3. Spray Flat Out (KMS) thermal styler all over hair. Its a product that helps smooth and straighten hair, as well as protecting it from heat damage from blowdrying and straightening.

4. Blow dry hair thoroughly, rubbing roots gently with fingertips, turning head upsidedown, creating volume at the roots.

5. Straighten sections of hair (approx 1 inch at a time, starting with the bottom layers) with a good quality iron (buy from salons or salon quality only) and have it on a HOT setting. When straighetning hair take the section you're going to straighten and brush/comb/finger the section and hold it straight up. Run the straightener over the length of the hair skipping the bottom inch or so. Repeat. And on the third straightening DO go over the ends. Avoiding it the first two times will save your dry ends from being damaged further, and pulling the hair up and away from the root creates volume instead of that flat top/weighed -down look.

6. Spray on a shine/finishing product like Biolage Shine (use sparingly, as makes hair oily and weighed down), Bed Head Shine Junkie, or my fave is to use Paul Mitchell Gloss Drops (comes in a li'l pump) and smooth a sparing amount thru hair, remembering to get your dry ends!

Wow, that was long, but I hope it helps. My hairdresser helped me work out this do-it-yourself routine, which is just what she does when I'm in for a cut/colour. I've been going to her since I was 9 (i'm 22) and I have never been dissapointed, nor had "bad hair". All prodcuts I use can be purchased at any salon, esp ones located in malls. Don't buy salon products @ the drugstore... they are often expired and ineffective, or are knockoffs and can actually make you sick bc of their poor quality content! Salons normally receive direct shipments from the manufactureres.

i just got a new ceramic straightner for x-mas from my mommy. its a babyliss pro. ITS WONDERFUL!!!!!!! it makes my hair soooo straight and shiny and it doesnt look all fryed and damaged anymore. i usually just use pantene shampo and then condition, let air dry for about 10 min then put some ZeroFrizz smooth ends cream and then blow dry and then straighten it a bit and then add a lil more zerofrizz and IM DONE.

^ ugh, please don't use pantene on your hair, use something that is actually nutrient rich to prevent further damage!

I'm too lazy impatient and low maintenance to do my hair every day, so I got mine straight-permed 4 months ago at a salon and it's still pretty damn straight (picture in gallery). It'll last you a long time and it'll save you the time spent on doing your hair every morning. The only think you have to do is dry you hair after you wash it and you get a good hair day every day.

It was definately worth the money it cost (100+) and it probably costs the same as buying hair products, hair straightener etc...

my natural hair is kinda wavy.. well my avatar is a pic of my natural hair.. i still straighten it ALOT tho. i use a ceramic straightener.. and i love it. I usually just use Sheer Blonde by John Frieda..i find it works good. but you always gotta switch up the shampoo and conditioner brands every lil while.

Does anyone know where i can find a hair product called 'Scream' my hair dresser used it and i really liked it but its all the way in richmond and i cant find it in any salons around my area:(

I agree 100%. I was in the same situation but I got a protein treatment and an ionic hair treatment (both to help moisturize your hair) and then I just stopped straightening it and now I barely ever blowdry it anymore. My theory is that if I wash my hair and towel dry it and then just let itself do the rest and it looks good, thats the best way. No work, no damage and I used to hate having to shower at a friends house or even swimming and my hair would dry afterwards and look awful because of how damaged it was, and I didnt have any of the products that I needed to style it/straighten it. Au naturelle is the best way imo.
*for a straightener look for the "futura", its the best if your going to straighten it.

so my question is to all you girlys out there that straighten your hair.. wat kinda products do you use? any name brands as well as the places that sell these products would really help me out a lot.

thnx
I stoped straightening my hair as often, because my hair was gettign so danmaged and I was loosing my natural curl. I only wear it straight on special days and that isn't to often, and if I do I ususaly use a good straightening iron....and then use lots of mosturising product in my hair after.

A good straightener is key! My hairdresser sold me (for way cheaper) her straighener she'd bought for her salon bc after using it a few times she realized it was too big for her little hands. Hehe. It's made by Exstacy, but I don't know any specs on it. Ladies, a good hairdryer helps too! I ordered mine from my salon.

^^ ye my bro used to be obsessed w/ straightening my hair w/ the futura..
and then he moved out and everytime i wanted to get my hair straightened for sumthign special.. he'd be busy..
and so i was in high demand of it.. cuz he got me sum ceramic flat iron.. and it had dials.. i put it on medium and it still burnt off a chunk of my hair..
my hair looked so healthy and nice.. until i used the ceramic and then my hair has been damaged since then..
and the futura never did that for me AND it had an on and off switch for dummies like me who didnt kno how hawt, too hawt was... it always made my hair look healthy, shiny and nice.
so he got me one for christmas... he ordered it from the warehouse.
and im obsessed now..
and i think every girl w/ thick, curly hair should have one.. cuz it works really well..

wow i sound like sum spokesperson.. ahha
