yeaaaa i had the same prob with the straigtning addiction... once you start, and fry your hair you enter the damned if you do, damned if you dont situation :P (dying it from jet black, to platinum blonde in one sitting isn't great either)

Prettty much, i got fed up too, so i just started putting a bit of straightner, or de frizz shit in my hair after a shower, and loosley pulling it back (to avoid the dreaded electrocution look) and kinda tried to heal my hair... so now that its healthy again, i can embrace my natural waves :D Straightners suck! B00000!

ceramic is wayyyy to go! i spent 180$ (inlucing tax + tip) on mine, but i was lucky to have a friend that is a hair dresser.. she took her time to go to a supplier, where she gets them for half prices. regular price for them around 300$.. she got me exactly the one she usses at salon, which is great! my hair looks sooo awesome now, i love it... it used to take me 45 min to an hour to streight my hair.. it was soooo horrible..but now i can do it 10 to 15 min.. depends.
i have curly/waivy hair.. and its suuuch a pain! no brushes or products can streight it the way my ceramic streightener does.. i dont even use any more products, at ALL.. not even serum.. i used to go through a bottle of serum a week, it was horribe... one bottle cost about 8$.. so imagine.. 8x4(weeks) thats about 35$ a month ... 35x12 = 420$ a year!

get it! i know at lougheed mall (pizzaz hair salon i think) they have little onces for 200$... of course i think its even worth to spend 250$ for a bigger one.. but u have to make sure its no metal crap.. and 100% ceramic...

my hair is AMAZING! i only had it that way when i had it done at salon, now i have salon hair every day! its best 180$ i've ever spent in my life on beauty products!

all the products and blow dryers and all this stuff really damages your hair.. cermic still does, but nowhere near as much as hair products! based on my own experience, after using products your hair gets freezy and just so unhealthy.. well imagine, no more freezy hair!

go for it, if u can afford! or could be best birthday present from parents ! (if its anytime soon)

ASHES -- whats rite aid? i dont think a real 100% ceramic can cost 20$! it must be ceramic coating, but not actual ceramic blade! i did my reaseach before i bought mine, and u actually can get one of those ceramic coated onces for cheap....even cermaic coated u still dont want to be using on your hair!

I'm pretty freakin sure it is all ceramic plates, cuz you can take them out, and look at em and stuff.

Rite aid? It used to be called payless, and before that, pay-n-save.. iono if u recognize n e of those names, but its just like a pharmacy type place.. i never been to london drugs but i imagine its something similar.

I mean it was around 20 dollars... 35 at most...i can't really remember but it works like HEAVEN its just amazing. i have hair to my bum so it takes forever to str8N it usually and now it takes like 20 min.. which is NOTHING cuz i have tonz of really thick hair...

found a better pic showin da hair..

Choice of shampoo and conditioner also make a big difference. Salon products are the best (try and stay away from most products found outside of salons, they're usually just "hair filler" instead of actual nutrients for your hair.) The "Sexy" hair line is amazing.... Since you're going for straight, you have atleast two great options: Big Sexy Hair or Silky Sexy Hair. (For best results with any hair wash, apply shampoo to the roots then down, and leave in for a minute or two. Conditioner, especially if you have long hair, should be applied from tip to root, and left in for slightly longer than the shampoo... try shaving of soaping up during this time)

If you always straighten your hair without replenishing it's health, obviously it's going to lose it's natural, healthy look. Shampoo and conditioner repair damage, but the right after-wash product can be a great temporary fix. Just remember, apply from tip to root, otherwise product may make your hair look ickey.

thnx
I have wavey/curly hair and I've been straightening my hair for a couple of years now and I just use lots of conditoners and it's still curly when I want it to be. I also used some stuff to bring out curls, I dont remember what the name of it was tho, so I guess Im really no help.

i love sexy hair shampoo and conditioner products..

i wash hair at a hair salon.. and everytime there is a sexy hair product around the sink.. i ALWAYS go for it.. as my choice..
soy based.. and it makes ur hair feel so good..

as for london drugs or store bought hair straightener's.. that are like 20-40$.. pssh.. if u have thin hair.. then maybe thats the way to go..
but for thick hair.. and especially curly..
go for a Futura.. there are 3 different types..
they have the baby futura.. which u can buy in hair salons.. the reg futura.. or the .. i call it the red futura.. (becuz the other 2 are blue.. and thsi one is red).. anyways this red one works on dry and wet hair..
another note.. whoever tells u that straightening ur hair when its 80% dry is bullshit.. it recks ur hair..

don't buy the Ceramix hair straightener it sucks..

Futura works with ur hair moisture and works well.. it has a built in comb that u can remove.. so it combs through ur hair..

also i heard alot of great things on the Hair Art..

using product after u straightener ur hair is key as well..
my choice is "Crystal" by intercosmo.. its alittle pricey (40$).. but it works very well.. and its strong..
KMS Serum and Biosilk are good as well.. i prefer KMS over biosilk though.

p.s

dont use any products b4 u straighten ur hair..

and using the futura or hair art shouldnt damage ur hair..
the serums usually help ur hair.. by making it feel healthier.. and also give it a healthy shine.

i went to the mall today i might buy the "NP ceramic straight iron" it is 160. they have another one there for about $70.. the girl said she uses it and it works good...but i think ill go with the 160 one.. hmm yah i used to have awesome hair too. but now im addicted to the straightener. i think i'll try some of the sexy products. im going to get my hair trimmed and stuff tomorrow... oh yah another question:
Im a newbie to hair colouring/streaking and i was wondering what is the difference between HIGHLIGHTING and STREAKING? which one is healthier for ur hair etc. etc. i got it streaked in december and i feel like doing in again for some odd reason. i have light a blonde (natural) looking colour

highlighting - streaking ur hair with colors that are lighter then ur hair color..
lowlighting - streaking ur hair with colors that are darker then ur hair color..

^ if ur willing to spend as much as u did on ur straightner, for color, you'll be set. A mix of low lites and hi-lites on really natural blonde hair would look good. Just go subtle but try and get like 2 different shades of blonde, and maybe a couple darker shades mixed in. :)
