no. I don't like my job, I find it boring, I am not happy... yet I am a peak perfomer -- get tons of money from compensation.... and at the end of this month they are flying me to Banff for a 3 day Peak Performers trip -- 3 days PAID vacation.

Well, Doom spends 90% of his work day sleeping and surfing the interweb... what do you think his satisfaction rating is?

I very much enjoy my work. For the most part:
-I'm my own boss
-I'm always kept busy so I don't feel like I'm wasting my time
-While not world changing, what I do effects a large chunk of the White Rock population; since we've lost the ability to gather substantial amounts of food for ourselves, we all depend on the grocery store these days. ;)
-I get full time hours, despite being technically part time.
-Minor union benefits, but they help in the long run.
-My job does not follow me home, allowing me to concentrate on other things I feel are more important to me.

Perhaps the only complaint I might have would be the amount of coin I make but making tons of money has never been terribly important to me. I just wish to make enough to pay my expenses and have enough on the side to treat myself to little odds and ends. At this point, my job does that and, the longer I work there, the more money I'll end up making anyways so its win/win.

I think it's all to do with what drives you to work.

I would say that most of the time, for some reason (poor communication with key clients, crazy management, repetitive mundane tasks, staff giving me unnecesasary attitiude) I'm not 100% happy with my job. Work speaks for itself, I don't really expect to be happy here all of the time.

What helps me perform bigtime is being able to see past that bullshit though. I do work for the government and wether or not me, or my team gets their shit done means a lot to the public in getting certain essential things. That is what drives me to work hard, the fact that I feel I hold some kind of obligation to do things for people.

And you know what? People who have all of these things set up to make it easier for them to be happy at their jobs who are in unions actually don't use that to their advantage to be productive. But that's a whole other argument.

Definitely.

It doesn't severly affect my performance, however, lately it has been affecting it more and more. Reason being, when I first started this job I was happy with the people, the job and the wage. However, now that I am doing tasks that are NOT included in my job description, and not getting paid for them, I'm becoming quite dissatisfied with my job and my pay. So, since there's pretty much no hope in hell of me getting a raise, I make a point of not working as hard as I could. As far as I am concerned, they can damn well pay me for the amount of work I do - so since I do all of this work that is not included in my job description, I don't give my best when I do what IS in my job description. I feel less ripped off that way. Before I had these new responsibilities, you'd never find me posting on FnK or CV during work hours, nor would you find me surfing the internet. Now, since I feel like I'm doing too much for too little, I've taken it upon myself to waste a bit of company time and surf/post my little heart out. Also, I never used to take my full breaks, now I make a point of taking ALL of my breaks, and sometimes a little extra, just to make my point.

I find the more you get paid the less work you really do.

Well i really dont like my job. Loading the stupid west jet plains is hell. most of our equipment only works 1/2 the time and since we are under so much pressure we have a really high rate of people going on WCB. Like me! they expect you to off load 150 what bags and the load 150 some bags onto the plain all with in 1/2 an hour. it is insane. They hire anyone so alot of the people who you work with are dumbasses. but the others that i like to work with are cool when we get long breaks we go to our cars and smoke pot. fun times. but yeah i am hopeing to be off till january!

I had two jobs for the summer:

My first job:
-The boss man (and manager) tried to scam on dollars.
-Talked to you like you were shit.
-Worked in a low income house place.

Because of these factors I:
-Found another job
-Was frusterated lessing my work quality.
-Didn't care about what I was doing or what happened.

My other job did all the opposit.
-I felt respected
-They didn't scam on money
-They taught me.

So I enjoyed going to work and I worked harder and performed better because of these issues.

Chris needs to get the first level busn classes out of the way so he can then understand the whole aspect of a succseful (sp) company.
With un-happy employees or high employee turnovers it makes the out come of work less quality thus making the customer dissatisfied.
Dissatisfied customers= no future work.

I bloody love my job!!! Evry time I go in I learn something new and feel so rewarded after each day. The pay is wiked! And cus im in a union its hard for them to just fire me on the spot... and cus where always infront of kids theres no yelling/swearing/name calling ect :)

The only down side is I dont really know where im workign till an hour or two b4... and I can only get upto 5-6 hours a shift... then again that is sometimes a good thing :D

*edit* how does it effect my level of performace? Well im driven by passion more then anything to do well... and then the pay ALWAYS keeps me on my toes and trying to be the best and most proffessional I can be, and I dont ever really feel let down becuse all my co-workers/supervisors are so positive.

Now lets see if FnK can actually be constructive in my life hahah.

Happy posting.
I am now leaning closer to being dissatisfied. I often feel like I deserve a better wage for the energy that I feel I put in. Hard work does not pay off in a sense that I no longer work for a company that provides some sort of commission. My level of job satisfaction doesn't affect my performance at my job very much. I try to keep working hard so that hopefully they will consider paying me more. However, my job satisfaction does influence my willingness to continue to work for the company I work for..

In fact, I will probably quit in a about a month or two.

Go figure that even though I've been slacking like crazy, my productivity is still higher than EVERYONE in my department (including my supervisor), AND I practically do what we pay our graphic artist and marketer to do. I'm still trying to figure out what exactly their jobs ARE considering that I DO THEIR JOBS! @#$%

mugsy is on a distinguished road
at my coaching job at the moment - no. completely disatisfied which is why i am in the process of obtaining the information and people power to develope a new club for the next winter season.
they treat me like shit, are asking for more work than what i am schedualed for, and have put me with an asshole as a co-coach so i can "teach him how to be a better coach, have my views and coaching philosphy's rub off on him" its stupid and pisses me off. dont higher a bad coach - or fucking three bad coaches at that.

my lifegaurding job is excellent. good pay, not alot of hard work - but thats kind of boring and unfullfilling.
