Raves went mainstream a long time ago. I don't know maybe i've just been in the scene to long. But i remember it back when you didn't have to worry about bumping into someone wrong. its not what it use to be. when drunk ass near 30 yr olds start walking into raves; ya its gone mainstream, in a scense.

What I've seen of the rave scene is that it has constantly been interested in how the mainstream society perceives it. Every time there's a TV show with a Rave scene, or some news report or some information center held by the cops or something like that, there's always a significant number of ravers talking about it, attending them, and discussing it on message forums.
For what it's worth, Mainstream society isn't so much important as the people at the party. This is just what happens when people start to run into each other (IE in urban locations).... they just wanna get together, have good times and enjoy some crazy new music. Subculture and Pop culture constantly overcross.... People in general know what a rave is, most people our age have been to at least a couple. The fashions kick around from all sorts of different aspects... just the expression of the people, though, right? I dunno... did that make any sense?

The Rave scene has indeed evolved but it doesn't mean its better or worse than it was. The rave scene today is what it is. Back in the day we always talked aboutbigger and better raves and now that we have them there's a longing for the old skool underground days but many of you I'm sure do not remember the real underground movement that was going on back then. It was veyr much a family feel with like people getting together every other weekend to party and have fun with little or no anamosity between anyone and very little drama at all cause no matter what everyone was there purely for the music first and the people second. Now I find that people come to raves for the people first and the music second. Again not better or worse just different. This scene is on the verge of evolving again in the next few years as major corperations start taking this scene as a good marketing tool towards teenagers and young adults. The rave scene's like a baby. When it was born it was innocent and extremly open minded and now the scene is in it's early adult hood trying to figure out where it belongs and fits in. Before long the scene will have found a happy ground and it will stay there until the next genre of music comes in and becomes popular.
