This group of teenagers has sworn off sex until mariage saying among other things, "It's called self-control -- if you can't control your emotions it's a pretty sad state." "Even now I don't want to love anyone because you are giving part of your heart away -- even if that does sound corny,"

Wouldn't sound so.. brainwashed if they said "Control how we react to our emotions"...

But yeah. It's a total rationalization.
And perhaps they are terrified of intimacy.
Don't want to fall in love? What, they think they marry first THEN fall in love?

Man thats sad.. denying your own emotions so you can pat yourself on the back and say you have self-control. Think about all of the experiences in life they will miss out on, sucks for them. Being 30 and not knowing what a clit is would be truly sad.
