I like Slipknot once in awhile... saying that their music is reponsible for all that terrible stuff is a load of crap. I listen to Slipknot and you don't see me as an irresponsible punk little fucker.

You are so out to lunch. Goths are not all suicidal freaks. It's a lifestyle that many choose to live.

What the hell is up with the whole 'some older dude FUCKED your daughter and then made her listen to Slipknot'? What sort of crazy pills are you on? That makes no sense what so ever. He has to pork her before he can rot her mind with Ev1L music?? hahahaha. WOW.

They're just a band... seriously, get over it. Look at the teen stars who are underage talking about 'give it to me one more time'. Are you gonna go at them now saying they promote your 14 yr. old sister to have sex? Highly unlikely I bet.

So I go into her room and she's like, "Hey Loudoo." *looking down at her sewing~
"So, what did ya do last night"
"Went to a friends house?...I don't see what the big deal is?"
"Maybe it's just because you didn't call mom and she was totally worried, seen as how you can't even tell the time on a hand clock?"
I see a bracelet that she has on and I laugh a little.
"Where'd ya get that bracelet"
"Bought it downtown?"
"Oh yeah...and I am humpty dumpty....don't try an fool you big sis....a friend gave it to you"
She's all confused...like HOW DID SHE KNOW??! SHE IS PSYCHIC!
and then I top it off with
"And how was the shitty 'E'? Looks like you did some pretty tech'd out shit"
"YOU CAN TELL??!"
"Well, if it wasn't for the fact that you told me you got a "candy" bracelet from a store...I would have thought you to be the most honest little sister ever! Hehe"

Turns out, she did jibby e at this skid's house and stayed up all night. Ewe...I hate people that do drugs on Sundays and close the blinds till night time the next day..*bleck ESPECIALLY LISTENING TO SLIPKNOT!

Freaks, back the fuck up off my lil sis!

OH, MY, GOD.....I never said it is responsible for "all that terrible stuff"?
What is all that terrible stuff you speak of, I'm just saying that putting an 18+ on these freak shows wouldn't hurt anyone, and would probably be in the best interest of every hardworking, level-headed parent out there.

Why limit the show? They'll just get ID and go anyways. Besides, there's always the miracles of the Interweb. Children will ALWAYS find a way to fuck up their minds.

Good question. It is supposed to be a representation of the evil inside of each of them. Also to protect against their faces being in the media and them having to deal with crazed fans. Or it could just be a big show. who knows.

There new CD sucked, but all their old stuff was in my discman everyday for months in highschool. When kids don't fit in at school, standing out or believing they are apart of something that is beyond all the preps at school is sort of empowering. Makes you feel like your not alone and acts as a method to funnel your anger.

loubelle

Angst filled youth is normal. You should just let your sister know that you are their for her, that you don't judge, and that you understand. She is obviously listening to the music because she likes it, the music won't change her into something she isn't.

My little sister hadn't even had a beer before this asshole got her wasted on whiskey and stole her virginity you asshole! Obviously if you were a girl you might understand why she would have this total following of everything that he liked, including Slipknot....:( *ugh it makes me cry

If they are smart enough to get ID's then they should be able to do whatever they want.

Well then she isn't listening to the music for the emotional content. Give it awhile and she'll move onto the next trend with another older boyfriend who will influence her

To my recollection, anyone under the age of 18 is subject to their parents' wishes, because they aren't adults. It's up to the parents to keep control of what their kids are doing. You say your sister is only 14? Well why TF, if it's such an issue, did they let her buy a ticket? And if this guy is such a bastard, why do they let her see him? If he's so much older, they have the right to charge him with statutory rape, too.

Seriously, give your head a shake. It's not the music that fucks kids up. They already have underlying problems that OBVIOUSLY aren't being adressed as they should be.

And, just for the record, my first serious boyfriend "fucked" me and "gave me the music" of heavy metal. I didn't become a "suicidal, world hating goth freak" because of it.

If a kid can figure out how to get a fake ID, then they probably can do a lot of things that for instance, my sister would be totally incapable of doing. She can't tell the time on a hand lock, point north, when the mountains are right in front of her, or tell you how much she made per hour washing dishes.....and she can go to a slipknot concert with no ID. GREAT.

I bet that as a parent, you would want your children to be able to go to "Slipknot" even if you thought that it's a bad idea, and leave it up to your perfect disiplinary skills to do the job of what society should offer.
Oh, yeah "give my head a shake" I'd rather dance than throw my skull around.

If you have to be 19 to purchase porno, 21 to gamble, and 16 to drive, and other ages to indulge in 'mature' behavior, then there's plenty reason to put an age cap on a Slip Knot concert.

If her sister is having problems, then Slip Knot is probably not the answer. For those who say that it does no harm or doesn’t induce any specific thoughts, that’s like saying men only buy Penthouse and Hustler for the articles. Is it any coincidence that cutters usually have NIN’s “Hurt” playing in the background?

Open your eyes to the obvious people. :006:

For the record, I've never been in a mosh pit, never headbanged. I think that's retarded. I haven't dressed even CLOSE to goth since I was 15. That's 9 years ago, just for your information.

Any parent that would let their kid (at age 14) go to a concert they didn't approve of has no reason to bitch and moan when their kid goes. My parents didn't let me, which might account for why I'm not a moron. Any parent that lets their kid hang out with people they don't approve of has no right to bitch and complain when shit happens. PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY. I know those are big words, but TRY to understand them. :)

In my opinion, you might as well drop this fight. You're only going to lose anyway. The only person that agrees with you is that right-wing meathead wum, and we've pretty much already ascertained that he's an idiot.

Oh man...The more you post, the dumber you look.

If her sister has problems, it's up to the PARENTS to get her therapy. Same with the cutters. Those people have problems that need to be addressed, and it's fucking ignorant to blame the music for the issues.

But we already know you're ignorant. :)
