Well i love slipknot they have some pretty kick ass tunes, and besides its all pretty sad to say shit about them because of there image maybe if you really think about it maybe it isent because there so called "freaks" maybe its because not like most "hip hop stars" or these persons which i like to be called media fucked there in it for the music im glad your sister likes them because she has any right in the world to and maybe instead of thinking shes depressed maybe you should actually talk to her maybe shes just sick of all the bullshit people that judge and is tired of persons of media fuckzation

When she started listening to it, she didn't even like it, she was just trying to impress her older boyfriend. But now, it is the only thing she likes, NO MORE AFI? Like dude? And she went from playing soccer, baseball, and going to scool to like "School doesn't do anything for you, the world is just falling apart" with her headphones on playing this crap all the time. I know it doesn't help her. And in this case, it would help if this show was at the Commadore... Maybe it wouldn't help the kids that listen to this stuff as a fad, but for children listening to it to help them create meaning for what they are feeling it isn't a good idea.

As for you Lori, just take a step back and look at what you are saying. Music does not make people depressed. I could (and sometimes do) listen Slip Not and other hard core/heavy Metal/Punk music without having any feeling of depression, never mind suicidal thoughts. If someone is depressed they could listen to fucking ABBA and still feel sad. Personally it's not the kind of music I would listen to at home but I do enjoy seeing it live. For someone that is listening to that kind of music there is an underlying reason they feel the way they do and are attracted to the music.

Whatever is going on with your little sister it sounds like she needs some guidance and support. Rather than trying to find a scape goat your/her parents should be taking responsibility for the problem. If they don't think she should go to the concert that don't let her. GET IT?????? When I was 14 my parents let me do mostly what I wanted but there were rules and if I broke them there was punishments. If kids have no respect for their parents and won't listen to their authority then it usually means the parents have made some mistakes.

No but I saw them @ warped in 97,98 and 99 as well as a few other shows they've come and played here. They are one of my favorite live bands. Less than Jake is up there too :)

uber libertarians believe that government should only protect private property and individual rights and nothing more. i'm just saying that's a bit too much. i wasn't saying you were neccessarily an advocate of paedophilia, but my point is that some people are too young to indulge certain behaviors, and they should be restrained by parents and perhaps the law as well.
