Actually that is true. I just got an Audi A2 with 12000 km and I saved a lot. But what about the warranty Natalie ?? If she bought a car which is 2 or 3 years old, would she still have a good warranty ?? |

I suggest stick with honda... the things are freaking bomb proof! If you take care of it they will run for a long time and gas wise the things run on oxygen!
I suggest to buy used as well... New is a waste of money, cuz if you buy the used one that is 1 or 2 years old you save mad dollars. - ë |

My best friend's dad told me that depending on the company and warranty, it can be carried over to a new owner. But really, how many repairs does a car generally need in the first 5 years of it's life? Not many. As long as you don't drive like a fucking idiot you should be fine - treat your car well, keep up with regular maintenence (oil changes, fluid changes, etc.), and you should be fine. Example: My grandma had her '89 Probe from '90 - '02, and the only repairs she ever needed outside of regular maintenence were: needed new battery, a small leak in a pipe, and she had to replace the windshield wiper motor. Since she gave me the car in '02 my repairs/problems have been: new alternator, new muffler, still needs CV boots and joints, oil leak on to my alternator belt (I have put 3 new belts on so far, the leak is too expensive to fix), my rear defrost only works 2/3 of the time, leaky seals, broken hooks to hold up my hatchback cover, etc. I could keep going but I'm sure you see my point. The car was GREAT for the first 13ish years...then it needed TONS of work. So, my new theory? Get rid of it after 10 years! lol! |

Hahhhahh, I know the feeling. If you can't wait Acura has something going on w/ RSX's and incentives. The base model has everything that a Civic Si has and is less common, better looking, more performance and less depriciation then a Honda. All in the same ballpark for price. Good meeting you too. |

Also take into account the availability of parts and specialized needs of owning a foreign vehicle. Living in Vancouver it's easy to forget that there's dealerships by the dozen. Brake down anywhere in rural Canada, expect to be stranded for a couple days waiting on parts. In the last 5 years companies have limited the do-it-yourself repair market by making vehicles more and more brand specific. A mechanic can now go to school specifically to become a ford,gm, honda, dodge etc certified technician. As a result, begin to expect big bucks for specialized problems. |
