Would you call someone narror minded if they know all religion is bad but look as each individual as an individual, not as a peon of some "sanctimonious" Religion?

Religion is for the weak. Wear your crutch like a crown.

Has anyone else ever noticed that almost all religious people are narrow minded fools that think like a herd of sheep.
id disagree, altho my mom is very set in her ways so many ppl are these days over many a thing not just religon.... YOu here ppl saying what i quoted about rap music, raves, drugs, and teenagers in general.....
They may be believe strongly in these things and live there life supporting it, but i would not say they are narrow minded fools..... because ppl could say the same for all of us because we spend are time on a message board or go to raves etc.

Absolutely. I don't see a difference between a religious fantatic and an anti religion fanatic, because both of them get pretty pushy with their views, and it's unnecessary.

seeing as I have yet to hear a good argument for why all religions are bad, my answer would have to be yes.

i think religion can be a beautiful thing. people with strong beliefs in a higher being seem to have more peace than their atheistic counterparts, except where the latter have replaced god with a more modern reverential figure.

however, religion can, obviously, also be divisive.

it's narrow-minded and naive to make a blank judgment as to religion's inherent 'good'ness or 'bad'ness, considering the spectrum of what it can represent.

I think having beliefs and having faith is great. But total reliance on religion is a dangerous thing. I know of some religions out there that are more like a cult than a real organized religion. It's sad when people are so narrowly set on what their own religion preaches to them that they can't see the forest for the trees.

If your faith empowers you, helps you see things clearer, basically live life better, then I say, all the power to you. I know a lot of Christians who go to History Maker and enjoy themselves :p. However, if religion becomes your sole support and you forget to see yourself as an individual capable of providing for him/herself, but rather see yourself as nothing more but a follower of your religion, this is where the danger comes in.

So if the religion aspect is such a controversy, why not scrap religion all together and work on science instead?
Can't we all just...get along?

we do not see scientists beating each other with beakers and test tubes just to prove that their experiments show more results do we?

Do you realize that subscribing completely to science is as bad as subscribing completely to religion?

We do not live in a black and white world.

I assume that science is fallable. with anything fallable, I think there is room for controversy.

do you know how many hard-working scientists try to prove their theory, only to become ostracized and then later have it accepted after their death?

No, I do not know how many of the scientists try to prove their theory. Can you please tell me how many? :) Thanks.

As far as religion is concerned, I am not falling it out. I am neutral on the subject because there is so many different religions out there I am not sure which one to believe. I would have to study them all before which faith I wish to follow. So don't try and assume anything about me, especially if you want to go down the negative road ;)

enough to show that science isn't always black and white and controversies do occur. :) you're welcome.

and I'm not assuming that you're against religion.. I just don't think that we can rely on science for everything.
