Candy

I find that people are too worried about whats in fashion, or what everyone is going to like. i wear a couple candy every day, and im planning on takeing a bunch to Godspeed. its about PLUR and haveing fun. if i get in one laugh, or meet someone knew because of the candy, it was more than worth it.

and if someone wants to come after me for being candy kid, im going to go twice as PLURy the next time. ill not let anyone dictate to me what i can and cant do.

re:

I like to be weird, dress up, and have fun. Raves are suppost to be a place where i can do that. people need to just relax, realize everyone is going to like differnt things, and let everyone enjoy themselves :P

I dress up because i enjoy it. A party is time to relax and be myself. I love fuzzy, colourful outfits. And its part of the excitement leading up to a party. Making a costume, making kandi, and getting to the party.

I remember when I met Kenji for the first time ... I had no idea what he looked like, we were meeting at the Wendy's on Coast ... I was sitting eating my meal, and this dude walks in, wearing a bright red hoodie, I knew instantly it was Kenji. Then while we were wearing our bright coloured hoodies, I believe mine was orange, we walked around like the biggest candy ravers ever. It was great. I was 16 or 17, I'm 21 now, things have changed, we've matured.

But it was good times :)

And when I met Neal too! WOAH! Candy alert, lol. I think between him and I we could have given candy to everyone at plaza. Again, we were both 16/17ish, and it was 2001, stuff changes.

And when the first time I saw "candy ravers", lol - I was at work in 2000 and I saw Jovi & Oxidie at the mcdonalds at coq centre, they were "liquid" dancing in the line-up -- GOOD times :) And one time Jovi was in my store (and I knew it was her because of her old neclace that said JOVI on it) shopping for 'phat pants', but none of them were phat enough :( Again, this was 5 years ago.

But they were all good times & have left great memories in my mind.

We don't need candy kids to bring back PLUR!

Plurry candy kids on e are just as annoying as bitter junglists on jib.* It's an exaggerated form of their actual personality due to the influence of a drug.

Candy kids are unusually nice because they're seratonin is pouring out like lava. How about just being nice for the hell of it. Being civil to fellow party goers because it makes the party a better experience for everyone. Bc we all came out just to have a good time. We don't need a certain "type" of raver to be present to make goodtimes - Make them yourself!

*Obviously not all candy kids do e and not all junglists do jib. All "types" of party goers do all kinds of drugs.

Edit: I may have been a "candy kid" but it was short-lived as I soon felt the dress code was rediculous, and being really really nice to people seemed incredibly fake (I didnt do e more than 5 times, so all I had to go with was genuine niceness).

I guess the point I'm trying to make is just be yourself and don't be a total asshole, starting shit with everyone and parties will still be fun/fun again.

Candy kids lose their novelty when they dress up candy outside of a party (ie: dirty fat pants, tinkie winkie backpacks, and candy to the elbows). The problem isn't that it happens here and there, it just got too frequent, and they got really loud, abnoxious, and many would dress in candy ALL THE TIME!

Seeing candy kids at Burger crack was annoying after a while. Why not go hoop some e and shnaft your jib somewhere else? However, anyone who was there may miss this to an extent, oh nostalgia.

PS

Cute clean candy kid girls are teh sex.

People like yourself contribute a great deal for why most self respecting people never show their faces at these "raves"

Now its more of an urban, trendy time. Where most dress casually at the least. I see no reason why one should dress up to a rave any differently than you would if you were going to work or walking down the seawall in vancouver.

Would you walk down the seawall in phat pants and a soother.

The candy kid style has never died, its just the scene that came with it has pretty much gone into hiding and retreat. With each scene comes a different fashion sense.

I will give you that alot of candy kids are fun though.

Well actauly i love my fat paints. i wear them often now that i have them :P and i wear 4 candy every day right now. some days i wear more. i dont actualy like those soothers though... lol

Plus i just really hate the idea of giveing up on something when it goes trendy. if i liked it before why should what other people are doing affect my choice.

would you explain this more.
and in any case i do not know what you say about these self respecting people, there must be none at the raves? all these self respecting people probably go to clubs and pass on the friendliness and respect there right?

you know perhaps it is people like her i love going to raves. people like her are joyful and positive, they are PLEASANT to be around.

who the fuck cares if the kids enjoy themselves and shower themselves with colourful bracelets. to people that do not like it deal with it. let the candy kids enjoy themselves, most of them are really friendly and fun. i have not yet crossed a candy kid at a rave who is an ass, i and many others for this reason love associating with them.

i am a person who loves meeting new people, raves are a great place to not only enjoy the music, and party hard, it is obvious that it is also a great place to meet new people too. usually when you see a person dressed up, or wearing really bright colours, or have shit loads of candy on them, it is like seeing a welcome sign, that says GREETINGS FRIEND. i like it.

people, i just want one thing, let us not stop smiling.

I Still fail to see the "problem". how does someone whos going to show you respect hinder your life. The bright colours are just to entise people to talk to you. kinda funny that you feel just the opposite :P I believe in freedom of expression. i like to go to the extreems, either as a candy kid or how ever i feel at the time. candy kid or goth its just a way to tell people something about yourself before words. if you dont like it then you dont have to stop and talk to someone you wouldnt get along with.
but i will have to agree with you on one thing, i love the candy girl look. :D
