that's just a lame accusation. the pope needs to be left out of this since it's a completely different situation. yes, they like to mention the two together because OMG TOTAL SIMILARITIES@!#% THEY BOTH INVOLVE FEEDING TUBES@#%! there are plenty of situations that involve feeding tubes that no one is mentioning.

so unless the pope was bulimic, and ended up in the same state that terry schiavo did, the two situations are completely unrelated.

(ps - you don't know whether or not she was in pain or how she felt. just because most people would've felt pain from being starved/dehydrated, doesn't necessarily mean she did. doesn't mean she understood what was happening either. of course, you can't speak for her unless you've been in her situation.)

I dont agree neccisarily with huge amounts of media attention that this all brought, to be honest I was really quite disgusted with it.
I just wanted to pick people's brains a little on something other than "who's the hawtest fnker", "what type of drugs do you like to do at raves", and "does this make me look fat??"

This is why I believe her husband was the right one on this...
when teri was alive she told both her husband and her brother in law that if she ever became a vegetable she wouldn't want to be kept alive...it was HER wishes...obviously her parents have some rights but the fact she said this makes me 100% sure what happened with the removal of the tube was the right thing to do.

She told her husband that if she was to be in a vegetated state that she did not want to be kept alive. He's her husban, and he did what his wife had asked him to do befro she became ill. I think he did the right thing. I know if I was in her situation, I wouldn't want to be kept alive. I would rather have my family actually lose me then have me there but not there because, I couldn't think or do ANYTHING.

Regardless of whether she was concious of it, her body probably was in pain. Pain (like fear) is a primordial response to certain stimuli.

Just because her BODY felt pain doesn't mean that SHE did.

^ (edit for missbehavior) who said she couldn't feel pain? I've yet to hear an unambigious statement that actually said so. And even though you had doctors saying death by starvation and dehydration is 'peaceful', that's only the case in the last moments before she slips into a coma.

i highly doubt she thought she would be starved.

Michael Schiavo was Terri's guardian and controlled who may visit her and when.

Perhaps Michael wanted her last moments to be spent in quiet and peace, instead of the incessant arguing that would have probably taken place had he let her parents in the room.

I'm bloody glad. I've had to watch the same crap on the news for over a month. If the crap has a developing story, then I guess its more acceptable. But nothing happened. The only major event was the removing of the tube.
