yah that second room gets wayy too hot. I really like how the security opened the back doors of the main room as well...totally cooled it down @ like 4am. Also they can't block off that outside smoke pit as much. All the smoke was backtracking and coming inside. Other then that I like the place.

yes the small room definetely needs some work. and fans improve the environment greatly.
i think it would be great if they dimmed the lights down in the lobby. and had less security. its annoying to have them breathe over your shoulder the whole time.
decorations would be nice too. also have lots of trash cans.
suggestions for sinful promoters, is that i think you guys should sell a bunch of crap behind the counter besides water, such as chips and water, that could make u a lot of profit. i find it a lot of people crave glowsticks at maritime, and they cant get them cause simply concetion does not sell.
and yes theme parties are very cool, even though that is not related to just maritime

Been there, tried that... Unfortunately the city won't allow it now. You have to remember the smoke doors are glass and always opening and closing... That doesn't hold sound in all that well and as a result, we would definitely have noise complaints.

Keep in mind that we can't just setup a room where we want it... we need prior approval from the fire marshal and the city.

You are right that it has been done before, but times have DEFINITELY changed since 2000-2002. Laws have become a lot more anal and ultimately the city has become more strict with stuff like this.

Perhaps moving forward, I can check into turning the lights off and having that as some sort of chill room. Hopefully the lights in that area are seperate from the hallway as you enter the venue as those obviously need to be on for security/searching.

Why not just shut your pie holes and leave it as is? We've been partying there since well before 2000 and there has never been a problem. Why not be happy with what you have? You have a venue that you can use and that's that!

You kids who grew up on massives will never EVER have a venue like the Plaza again.... best get used to the scuzzier joints that they use now.

IMO, I wish we could go back to the days of Mitchell Island... hands down one of my fave places to party. Actually felt like a 'rave' using the dirty run down venues. You raver kids are too spoiled!

Yeah, Maritime was great back in 2000.. Morning Glory's chill room was always a great place to unwind for a few before going back to busting it on the dance floor. Ah, the memories... :Clink:

i went to this party in seattle called "1 fish 2 fish, red fish blue fish"

never have i seen a more decorated party!!!

there was like even a pond...

and stuffed fish everywhere....

and a huge cuddle room....where no shoes were allowed...

This is because it's not really a room. It's just divided off of the main room using portable partitions, there's isn't much they can do about that... but if you were smart you should have sat leaning against one of the other walls as it's usually in the corner of the space.
