Should the internet have a limit?

So this is something I usually think as "no". But recently I have run across some pretty horiffic sites. As an example www.goregasm.com Fair warning, before you click on this link be forwarned that most of the content is disturbing. er... mentally scarring.

For most of you, that probably sold you on clicking the link already, and you've stopped reading this. But for the rest of us we have seen to many gross things already that we are still recovering from. I would post some pics, but I fear I would be banned. haha

Every one has visited gore and rotten.com before, and are not easily surprised.

In my opinion this site needs a lock put on it, for people at least under the age of 18.

Does the internet need more control over content, or whould that be an infringment of rights?

Maybe im just getting to old...ha ha I care about the future of the children.

Keep Dancin'

Facts about dead hurts doesn't it?

The internet should of been regulated years and years ago. They should of made some type of license that would need to be aquired so that the person would qualify to use the internet since its a worldwide network. It makes no sense why I had to go for a course and take a test to aquire a ham radio license. With that license I can go anywhere and aquire a ham radio. With the internet all you need is a computer and an internet provider and your instantaniously "connected" to every global resource that is out there. Myself if I wanted to communicate with others on the other side of the world I'd have to get a stronger antenna. There's more shit that can go down with computers then there is for ham radio.

Oh I remember also looking at gore gallery 9 years ago, and its not pictures of death that I think should be banned. Its the purposful mutilation of human beings for pleasure that bother me. The Ham radio license is a good point. Maybe one should have a license to propogate human pain. Isnt there enough of it broadcasted already?

the question : should teh internet have a limit is greatly overshadowed by a more REAL question: CAN the internet have a limit? the answer plain and simple is no.

reminds me of the industrial revolution, some didnt want it, but the world knew that it couldnt stop what was coming. its ridicluous to think that while technology in all other areas will continue to advance, our medium of communication will stay the same (if we were to all of a sudden limit it)

the only reason that shit like tubgirl.jpeg is even around is because someone MADE it, the internet didnt. stop blaming the internet for the shit you see

That would be up to the parents or the person providing the computer.

There are plenty of services offered that block off stuff like tubgirl.

Why is there so much talk of tubgirl lately? I dunno why, but it seems like everybody's talking about it again these days. Like, christ, this was big back on ED fer cryin' out loud.

I beleive in the free flow of information. If i want it, or want information on it, i should be able to attain. Weather its correct (politically or anatomically) or not, is upto the viewer and should not be restricted at the server.

I agree wholeheartedly, if you can't monitor you're kids on the internet, then you shouldn't let them on, and educate yourself and your kids on the internet and monitoring software. And if they get past the software, good on them :P it shows an affinity with computers and creativity/problem solving skills, (s)he is well on their way to becoming a dilbert. :P

Fuck the UN! AND the gerbil they rode in on! Let them try and regulate it, no matter what, there will always be people able to get around it. If they can design a program(virus) to take down most of the root DNS servers, then let the UN try and control them. I say good luck to you sir! Thou art going to fucking need it.

It's next to impossible to regulate the internet in this way. Society would be better off spending some time educating and preparing children on the things they might come across. Society needs to adapt to the changes, not stop them.

I think the internet should have a limits. Some people can be influenced extremely easily. children. And with the above mentioned unlimited access, a kid could run into a bunch of demented crap and make him find interest in that. I'm sure it's cool to gawk at and stuff because of our carnal tendencies, but seriously. Do we need REALLY need more Marty's? (zing) Although you're not hindering their ability or potential, you're influencing their interests by giving them access to the demented.
