WHAT A STUPID LOGO!!!!!! JESUS!!! Canucks logo, Olympic logo whats next...I thought faulse advertisement was illegal, if you never came to Vancouver you would think we were just all Natives living in igloos or something but then you got here and you would see it is just asians living in high rises. They should just make the logo a Dragon or some shit would be more of an accurate reprensantation.

I knew it was going to get into a race issue I knew I was going to be drawn into it and I knew there where going to be people preaching there knowledge like SideKick who put me to sleep before the second sentence blabbing on about crap that happend in 1928 and making excuses for everybody and there squirl. Its 2005 and I don't give a fuck about how your penis got touched in 1928 sorry...
ps. I am ignorant about alot of things pss. no I don't care psss. and yes I don't think before I talk pssss. and of course I am trying to get a rise out of somepeople it's the only way my entertainment level will go up enough to make both reading this stupid post. |

^hey dude, i gave fair warning that i was going on a sidetrack, if you're too retarded to understand what that means then you deserve to have ten minutes of your life stolen. you probably would have spent them sitting and staring at the wall anyway, so consider yourself lucky.
at least you know you're ignorant. |

JUST PERFECT.. I now know just how blatantly childish all of you are... The colors represent a unified nation..and the fact that the symbol reflects a solid, withstanding man that will last for thousands of years, the choice is perfect for an olympic symbol. By far the best symbol I have yet to see...and kids will be attentive to the cartoon like figure. It's pop* mainstream* Get it? Idiots? *HAHa. TO OVERLOOK THE COLORATION OF AN ARTISTS REPRESENTATION OF A MULTIETHNIC SYMBOL OF CANADA IS DEMENTED. WHAT...IS EVERYTHING BLACK AND WHITE? Honestly...some of the things I've read are ridiculously callow. Our country is a whole...and for those of you who think that BC is standing on it's own...your wrong. You let the province's borders divide you too much. Canada made us...and Canadian is what we are. Those statues are found in BC too..sure they aren't JUST british Columbian...but IF THE SYMBOL WAS A WHALE HOW WOULD YOU WORK IN THE IDEA OF MUTICULTURALISM...MAKE THE WHALE COLORFUL??? OH PLEASE.. Just because you live in a harbour city...doesn't mean the rest of the province is the same. Go to the north, west, east....they're ALL WHITE and NATIVE!! You guys don't even get out of the city and you're far too obsessed with FuN*fUn* AHHH! I HATE U ALL!! YOU WASTED MY TIME! My thoughts while reading through* ....Now how in the hell could an argument about a fucking olympic symbol go on for sO DAMN LONG..and then after two full pages out of four where nothing at all is said I questioned...where is all of this going...not one person thinks the colors represent multiculturalism??? I concluded....you're all shallow ravers..with absolutely no understanding of mainstream contemporary art. I think the symbol is classic. A little cheesy, but thats the type of world we live in right now. The ONLY other image other than a multicolored human figure that I could think of would be a salmon. |

The first European-Canadians probably wouldn't have survived without the help and knowledge of the first nations people... In fact, we probably wouldn't be here were it not for their expertise. In that sense, perhaps it does represent us all.
It's kinda cute actually. It may look "effortless" as others have mentioned, but that's what logos are. They are meant to be simple, not complex. Last edited by yoko*; Apr 26, 05 at 12:50 AM. |

One last note...
Non native people are represented DAILY in mainstream canadian culture. In fact, when are they NOT represented? Crying "underrepresentation" to me is kind of a ridiculous idea considering that the majority of olympic athletes and organizers themselves will consist of non-native priviliged people. !! The people who designed the freaking logo themselves are non-native, what MORE do some of you want? Regardless of whether it was this logo or another, there will ALWAYS, ALWAYS be someone that's going to rag on it. Last edited by yoko*; Apr 26, 05 at 01:32 AM. |
