I am a DJ and I have to agree with you on a lot of topics. But, I have a passion for electronic music. I find that when im spinning at home or at a rave/club I get the most freedom, no worries in life for that 1-2 hours, stressfree and who gives a shit about people dancing.
There are some people who like to brag about it and most of the time they're shitty dj's to begin with - trainwrecking every single track.
I became a dj when my style of music died out. Lots of friends started with me because it was the "cool" thing to do. They lasted a month. I've been spinning since 1999 and even with my style dead as a nail I continued to spin because of the love for the music. I then started to play other genres because I was looking for a challenge. How many DJ's can you name that play: Dnb, breaks, trance, techno and all the sub genres in techno.
Now if you're one of those people who hate raves and electronic music.. then i give you a "BIG FUCK OFF" because you shouldnt hate on something you know nothing about. Unfortunetly, you're probably surrounded by dick djs that think they're the most important person in the world.
But i'd rather spin for 10 people who understand the music than for 400 people who are there for getting high and making out with some raver.
Unfortunetly, when i play now.. people have been so pumped with pure crappy trance that they wouldnt know a classic if it went up behind them and ate their penis/vag
and when people ask me if im a dj... i say no.
i dont like to fit in stereotypes, whats the point of telling the truth to some dumb loser who would simply reply with "that's cool" ?
you should hear the shit that comes out of other dj's mouths when we all get together and go for dinner. your blog would be 11 pages long if you there. I feel like killing all of them because i dont care about their dj career.
