In many cases any intelligent person could also decide which pill to use, just from reading web pages for a few hours, and I'm sure a nurse could do this task. But the shrink gets a few hundred grand a year for doing this, and there's a shortage of shrinks and they don't let anyone else do the prescribing, so lots of mentally-ill people get no help, not even pills. This is one of the reasons we have lots of wackos running around.

No shit! I had some problems from taking too many drugs (who woulda known?). So the guy just sits there and ask me a couple questions, give me prescription and boots me out the door. I was never impressed with the treatment I got. The pills did work in the beging qutie well but as time wore on the side effects outwieged the symptoms I was having. One day Last year I just decided to stop. Presto, I was fine. About 10 months later I stated feeling down and anxious so I did some research on different drugs and herbal supplements. I found out that my psychiatrists had just presribed me the latest and greatest new drugs that were availible. They didn't come cheap either. It was nearly $300 a month before fair pharmicare. So now I'm taking 50mg a night of 5-htp. It seems to be working pretty good. I wonder if shrinks even fathom the idea of prescribing supplements such 5-htp and St. Johns Worte. Probly not.
So Wum what's the connection between the shrinks and the drug companies? Is it bigfoot or the killer vampire zombies?
Cheers to the googling shrinks of planet earth :sixpak:
