I have a design planned in my Head but I just have to overcome my fear of sharp pieces of steel piercing my flesh repeatedly before I get it done. lol

it hurts, but i mean, it's like when you're carrying a hot tray of something across a room and you know you can't drop the tray but your hands are burning and telling you to do it anyway. that's the best way i can describe it. it's pain, but you just overcome it with your mind because you know that you can't really stop it and you're paying someone to do it to you.

but the whole time my brain was yelling: "what are you doing?! stop that man from hurting you! punch him! punch him in the balls and run away!"

hahahahahahahah I totally agree with what your Brain was saying. I might have to suck it up and get it done. I want to get 4 Marine Stars on my Right Forearm.

i asked the guy the most painless place to get a tattoo and he said the forearm and the shoulder. so you should be okay :) but then again everyone's body is different.

my tattoo artist was this older guy who only does it on the weekends and works with mentally disabled kids during the week as his real source of income. he'd been doing tattoo's for 15 years and worked as a sign-painter before computers took over his job! we had a good talk about whether or not computers will eventually do tattoos. he thinks that there will be some new form of lazer tattooing that will replace needles eventually.

That's sounds really cool!

I doubt that that will get rid of the pain factor though. Getting laser treatment to remove tattoos is supposed to be fairly painful too. I'd venture to say the same if you were to get one done by a laser.

There's so many good artists out there... I hope that doesn't happen for awhile.

^yeah, i don't think it will. we both thought that people would rather have humans do the tattoos than just machines. it's more personal that way and i wouldn't really trust a machine to do something like that.

I just find it strange thinking about having an absolute PERFECT tattoo.

The inconsistancies are what make it your's.

i dont think tattoo artists will ever be replaced. back when photography came out they all said that it would be the end of painted portraits..... and it never was.

i think tattoos will soon become less popular - soon as in a couple of decades and revert back to being an underground kind of art\expression. but then it will come back around again.

anyyyyyways....
hows it feeling tonight jake? i think im overly excited about your tattoo. its so amazing to see it, for me at least. ive seen my own tattoo's on myself, but that just f-in rocks. im completely over-joyed that you are so happy with it. i dont know how to express my gratitude.

i'm so glad i got you to draw it up for me. it feels good to know that the tattoo was drawn by a friend instead of someone i don't know. it feels good right now. i can't stop looking at it. just like when i first got piercings...i had to look at them every second to make sure that-yes i actually went and got it done. it's still sinking in that this is going to be on my body forever...but that doesn't scare me.

must be cool to see your art permanently on someone else's body :) i'm glad you like it so much, too. looks pretty much identical to your picture.
