PS: When I use to work for Second Cup... we wernt aloud to serve alot of food after one day. Luckly we had a cool manager who arranged the Harvest project to pick up muffins and loafs etc that were still edibal for the next few days. Maybe check with other coffee shops and resturants who may have alot of baked goods that are only sellable for one day. I believe Safeway also has alot of extra food too from their bakery.

I do wish to thank the number of people that want to help out that day and especially those who are inquiring to places to see if they can help out with food.
I will also need some drivers so if there are any of you that can help with that please let me know. As a driver all you are required to do is help carry the food around. As the day approaches I will have a location that we will prepare the food at. From there we will load up the food and beverages and plan how we are going to hand it all out. I will also setup a buddy system as I DO NOT want anyone participating to be alone by themsleves at any point in time while we are out on the street. Please mark that day down on your calendar and please let me know in advance if you cannot help out so I know how many people are participating. Thanks again for your support and please keep an eye on this thread for updates. Regards, Winston |

I put out a cry for help last week and now that my fundraiser is done we carry on with part 2!!
So this week I need everyone who has been looking for sponsors to donate food (bread, spreads, meat, cheeses, beverages) to confirm what we can get. Anything else that we will need this Friday that is not donate I will go buy myself for this event. Aqua @ 1066 W. Hastings have kindly offered the space for our use! I will get all the sponsored food to be delivered to Aqua and food preparation will begin at 3pm. I will need people to help prepare all the food there, then load up the cars and head off to the downtown east side to begin our handout. Hopefully we have enough drivers so we don't have to go reload. :) So the details once again are as follows: Date: Friday December 23, 2005 Time: 3pm Place: Aqua @ 1066 W. Hastings So if you want to help out with this event with food or help out driving please msg me here or email me your contact info to [email protected] Thanks again for to support and lets make this all happen in 4 days time. - Winston |

Hey Bro!
just a few questions: What do we currently NEED? As in, what are we probably going to not have enough of? Breads? Meats? Condiments? 1) Are we going to brown paper bag full meals? ie. Sandwich/fruit/drink/? 2) Are we planning to add vitamins to the packages? 3) I can probably help the food preperation and any related orginization, just gimme some intel on how you would like things to run? 4) I can probably round up the crew from Mobilization Against War and Occupation, but it will turn it into a much larger endevour to organize, and more important to make sure it is, is this acceptable? If this is feasable, or needed, get a hold of me ASAP, and ill start making the phone calls. We have last minute meeting this wed at Joes Cafe(We were planning to not have one orignially thus its not a the usual brittania) so if you can get some parameters down i can share them with the group on Wed, or perhaps you may even be able to come join us!? 5) if you wanna give me a call, and perhaps we can go and plan things out, or i can help you with logitics gimme a buzz @ 604.710.7410 6) im really stoked that you got this ball running mate, good show! :) |

Answers to your questions:
- As of right now we don't have anything. I know some people have been looking at having some companies sponsor food and beverages but I now need to have this confirmed for this week. - We won't be bagging the food. Just walking up to people and offering them one or two wrapped sandwiches and a hot beverage. - Food prep will be at Aqua which will be an assembly line method of food prep. - I appreciate the offer of help from your organization but this is an FNK event and would prefer to keep it to the user group here. As much as this is a charity event this is also a FNK meet to introduce yourselves to other members. |

I work at a bakery and will definately be able to bring muffins, bread, and whatever else they would like to throw my way. I dont get off of work until 8pm but would be willing to drop off some pre-made sandwiches and stuff after work??
