Well I haven't gotten too many replies to confirm the food so I am going to go ahead and place an order for the bread and sandwich meats/spreads to make around 500 sandwiches this Friday afternoon.

I have been given a wholesale food contact so I am getting all this at his cost. If you wish to put money towards the purchase of these ingredients just pay me on Friday as I am paying for everything at this point in time.

If you are looking at sponsors for beverages or baked good please confirm their sponsorship and let me know ASAP.

Sorry to say im only available between 6-8pm between jobs. Id be more than willing to pitch in for the sandwiches and tomorrow Ill check to see how many left overs we have as we had a huge christmas party tonight :D

Well the food has been ordered and all the items to make the 4 different types of sandwiches will be ready tomorrow. I will be paying for the ingredients and if you wish to contribute to the costs feel free to do so tomorrow when we meet up.

Those of you who want to help with the preperation of the sandwiches please meet at Aqua @ 1066 W. Hastings at 3pm.

The beverages have been sponsored and they will be ready at 8:30pm for pickup.

Everyone who wishes to participate in handing out the food is asked to arrive at Aqua at 9pm. We will have a quick meeting, I will group you into groups of 3 or 4 and then we head out for the night.

Once again I thank you in advance for everyone support in this event and I look forward to seeing you tommorow.

i used to work at safeway, they usually have lots of bakery stuff from the day before that they sell at like $1 a pack, with an early notice they wouldve probably been able donate all that. next year tho :D

cant come in the afternoon but will definately try to make it by 9 to help out with distribution

Some unforseen obstacles tripped me up, and i shamefacedly could not attend. But i wanted to give some huge props to every and all involved including 'hammered. It may sound contrived, or cliche, but these kind of grassroots endevours are trully powerful and serve as an example and motivation for myself and others. :)

I am disappointed that there weren't more people out last night based on the replies I got in this thread.

But I do want to personally thank everyone that did come out to help make the sandwiches and then endured the wet weather for 4 hours to accomplish our mission.

I did learn quite a bit walking around last night and I guess the wet weather did force many people into shelters, but the people we did find were grateful of our efforts.

Next time I'll do a weather forecast first. :)
