^^ My dad told me that when he talk's to me about how I need to quit which I know.
He also tell's me it takes a solid 5 attempts for most people to actually quit. Im pretty sure Im on number 5. I can do it if I quit for 3 month's before Im sure the rest of my life should be a peice of cake.

Im cutting back, my goal's to quit by jan 1.
I need a date to push myself too.
Im thinking I might try the gum or patch.
Cold turkey's hard when almost all your friends smoke.

Here are a few tips i've gathered from the billions of times i've tried to quit smoking and from both my sisters who have quit cold turkey after smoking for over 15 years.

1. don't watch people smoke it'll only make you wish you were outside smoking with them.

2. don't quit on a weekend (although i did). quit during the begining of the week.

3. try to avoid the smell or ad's or anything that will trigger you.

4. drink a huge amount of water.

5. if you are craving a smoke badly, stuff your face full of gum and chew chew chew. this doesn't do anything but make you forget about a smoke and start worrying about how sore your jaw is going to be in an hour.

it's all about will power. quite frankly i don't care to quit i've just been told 18 million times that i can't do it so im going to prove a some people wrong and save myself some $$$$.

^^ the hardest thing for me when I try to quit is I really enjoy smoking. I like to sit outside with my thought's and have a smoke.
I'll just have to sit outside with cup of tea next time I guess.

So It has been about 4 weeks since I bought a pack. I have had maybe 5-6 smokes here and there when drink.

What has really worked for me this time around is that I quit just as I got with my new guy, who does not smoke and, did not know for the longest time that I ever did. And yes I am dong it for myself not for some guy, I just set out my quit date to be when i got a bf that does not smoke.

I do really miss driving and having a smoke though, thats the big one for me.

That's one thing that's helped me not smoke so much, I dont have boyfrind but I met a guy Im freaking crazy about who doesn't smoke. He dislikes smokers so much we were at a hockey game and I had my smokes in my purse he tried to grab them and was going to throw them as far into the stands as he could. I got them away from him, but it help's to be with somone who doesn't have that habbit. All my friend smoke so they are really no help. Maybe he'll be my good luck charm.

it helped for me that I got a brand new car and implemented a "no smoking" policy in it.

Same with my home, it's been a no-smoking home for 5 years even though i was a pretty heavy smoker...
