I thouroughly enjoyed hugging trees and dancing on the beach. And the stages were absolutely amazing. I am trying to find the time and the crew to go again this year.... |

Yeah when I saw the lineup I was a bit dissapointed. I would like it if there were a couple more big names, but I mean they did a really good job covering lots of genres. Everyone seem to be "OMFG ALL THEY BOOK IS BREAKS< ASSHOLES#@)(*@)", but thats bullshit! I broke down the djs into genres (I was super bored) and posted it on the shambhala website. They have a shitload of djs playing: Funk/Hip Hop/House//Trance/Breaks/ and some of the BEST downtempo/ambient shit Ive ever heard, not to mention some crazy ass shit that you would never see anywhere else. And sure there may not be that many DnB dj's, but they got Hive and SS! Those 2 are some of the biggest headliners they got.
Shambhala has introduced me to some crazy fucking shit over the years, and after doing some research on the names they got, I have no doubt they will do it again. So I say, if the only reason you go to shambhala is to see drum and bass, then dont fucking go. Theres enough crazy beats the satisfy my need for some diversity. ps. Wax Romeo and Neighbor are going to blow the forest up on friday morning at 6. Neighbor is my best buddy from calgary and he's got some maaad skills and funky beats. He'll most likely be playing some live funk over the set on the bass/guitar. And I might try to con him into letting me play a little trumpet with em;) |
