OMG, It's so humid in HK
I am in Hong Kong - It is 9:30 PM
Since arriving here 27 hours ago, I have been, HOT. As soon as I stepped out of the plane, HUMID!!!!! WOW... stuffffy so stufffyy... Felt like an old rave... or the breaks room in the PNE. I live pretty far from Central HK and today being Sunday apparently it's crazy everywhere.... so today was beach for Amanda and Wakeboarding for Andrew! I AM SOOOO SORE!!! SO MUCH PAIN... The food I had for dinner was quite possibly the best chinese food I've had in a long time. Tomorrow is apparently shopping and for anyone who has been to HK, please suggest places for me to go to! I'll keep you guys posted! btw... GO OILERS! |

if i was in hong kong right now.... i'd probably goto the Shatin mall again to reminisce the countless hours i used to spend walking around there. hehe it's been 10 years since i was last there but they had another building beside the main that had a bunch of cool stores for buying pirated cd's, bb guns... ah good times =p
tsim sa choi had alot of cool shopping spots. i remember granville road being a good place to walk down to find good clothes.... the big mall.... i think it was called Ocean Center... next to the Star Ferry and the Hong Kong Cultural Center was a place i used to go alot. Tai Koo Shing had a humongous mall as well with an ice skating ring. lol i think they play hockey there as well well it's been a while since i was there... all i hear is that hong kong is a completely different place now. man i miss hong kong.... totally didn't want to move away from that place. |

So, I'm sleeping on a couch since I gave Amanda the mattress and the couch is very small.
So I ended up waking up in 3 or 4 separate positions which ended up giving me 3 or 4 separate cramps to add to the soreness I got from Wakeboarding. Oh yes, today was rough again. I went shopping at the Times Square in Causeway Bay and the stuff here is actually cheaper. Not a lot... but you don't pay tax and you save a few bucks on the general price. Times Square is a very nice mall, there are cell phones EVERYWHERE. Very hot and muggy day, probably lost another 5 pounts just by sweating... god damn... Watched MI3 tonight and that was a very entertaining movie, I thought it would be bad but meh, pleasantly surprised. Apparently, giving out Tip here in HK is unheard of or just not done. We went to Tony Roma's for lunch and our bill game out to about 600 HK dollars which translates to about 50 somethign dollars. We wanted to give the lady a tip but didn't know how much, when we offered 30 HK dollars we thought it was way too little but she was so happy! She took 20 and told us to keep the rest!! Very nice lady. but man... the ickyness has to end soon |

many restaurants in hk adds an automatic service charge whether u like it or not. and it don't matter if it's a party of 2 or 10 ppl -- quote Tipping Most restaurants add a 10 per cent service charge but an additional 5 per cent may be given, where deserved. When a service charge is not automatic, 10 per cent is acceptable. Small tips may also be given to taxi drivers, bellboys, doormen and washroom attendants. http://www.asiatravel.com/hkinfo.html this is common practice in many countries, not just hk. |

hk is more than just dining and shopping. if u venture out of the city, there's lots of hiking and exploring countrysides, hills and islands. there are theme parks including disneyland now. clubs in lan kwai fong. and hk is a convenient gateway for day trips to macao and china. |

Never gone in my life boss. The malls here are crazy with like 13 / 14 floors. Wasn't anticipating the humid weather so I brought clothes that I shouldn't have... I'm sorry my trip is not up to your standards during the 2 nights i've been here so far. I'll try to do better just to impress you. |

MI3... well, as nutty as he is, i'm still a tom cruise fan. I'm chinese anyways so I know and watch all the chinese movies anyways back home.. meh! on to, Today! Finally got to check out their subway system, really nice and fast! clean as well, anyone caught litering on it is subject to a 5000 fine and 6 months imprisonment! Did some more shopping, macked on some chinese girls. Sweated away what had to be about 5 pounds just from walking. Walked around Central and came across the "white strip" All bars with all white people lol. Escalators outside so peple don't have to walk up the crazy hills is always good! Crazy LED's that change colors and move are always fun as well! 7-11 sells their beers at 10HK dollars for 500 ml which works out to be about 1.40 for a big can of heineken! there will be lots of drinking!!! Tomorrow is the tourist day! |

CHEAP BEER! Last time I was in Portugal we were paying 1 euro 35 cents for a six pack of Carlsberg. Which worked out to around $1.75 canadian at the time. Then again they hit you back when you go to the nightclubs, I paid 15 euros for a redbull vodka. |
