What do the people want???
Helloooo..
Im a relatively new promoter and im just wondering what makes a great party to you.. im sure this has been asked a million times im just curious what is the most important part. Is is the DJ? Sound system? Club? Day of the event? Promoter? Im sure its all of these to an extent but which one stands out the most. Oh and if it is the DJ can you please tell me what dj you would really love to see that hasnt spun here in the last 6 months. Thanx

What people want is what they can't have.
They want top notch talent, sound and setup at an incredible venue for the same price of a value meal at McDonalds. And if they aren't happy then the event still sucked and you are a crappy promoter. Other than that welcome to the scene in Vancouver.

at least 2 or 3 good DJs (josh the funky 1 would be nice)
a good venue (preferably not a club but i guess thats just cuz i like the illegal parties) booze inside good setup (lights and sound etc.) and not more than $25 tickets unless it's a huge DJ

We could never put together a festival-type setting (like the Ultra Music Festival) w/30+ headliners, etc. as the city would never allow it. Hell, we can't even have an all ages venue with a designated drinking area for the peeps that can and are old enough to drink. Anyway -- you want to make a big change... hmmmm... work with the city and build a new club from the ground up. ;)

the atmosphere.
which is a combination of good djing/performing, nice venue,good crowd, drink specials and perhaps something a little extra to take it up a notch or two. If you brought something new to the table with your shows- that would make your parties different than all the other parties, people would take notice. People love surprizes. Great Djs/performers are one thing, but the best events i've attended were ones that I was surprized at one point or another. This can be accomplished with the music, but it can also be accomplished by other means... pm me if youd like to discuss more. im just full of wild ideas for this kinda shit ha ha ha

I could careless for the lazers, the lights, the set up etc etc.
