Last week:
Bridge to Terabithia 8/10 Road to Guantanamo 8/10 but REALLY hard to watch This week: Brothers of the Head 8/10 > Really neat movie! Based on the book of the same name, I believe this is a mockumentry (sp?) about conjoined twins that are sold by their father and exploited by record execs to become the (fictional) pop-rock sensation Bang Bang, cashing in on the shock value of their exceptionally unique condition. Don't worry, I haven't given anything away. |

naw.. matt groening ran out of ideas many years ago.. the show consists of stupid puns to make it funny rather than originality, like matt groening used create
and from what i've seen of the movie preveiws.. it's the same crap as all the newest ones will be a renter for me.. or probably downloaded.. i dont' think the movie deserves any more money the only reason they made a movie anyways was to try and squeeze even more money out of the stupid public with a show that lost it's edge about 5 or 6 years ago now |

Put your entrenched cynicism aside, do yourself a favour and go check it out. Look man, we're talking about a fucking institution here. The Simpsons has been our cultural/moral compass basically ever since they jumped ship from the Tracy Ullman show (the what??). My attitude going in was "Even IF it ends up being disappointing, I basically owe them a shot for the hours and hours of entertainment they've provided me over the years. I'm not missing a chance to see their big moment on the big screen." If you don't see it in a crowded theater with lots of ready-to-laugh fans (the way comedies are meant to be seen), you're certainly going to lose some of the effect. If you watch it on TV or you're computer, you're denying yourself a chance to see The Simpsons burst the 27-inch boundry they've been trapped inside lo these many years. No one's denying the show isn't as "original" as it used to be (how could it be??).. but, to me, anyways, this leap to the movie screen felt new and exciting, with quality gags that hearkened back to its golden years. Go check it out!!! (everyone, not just WhiteLight) |

that's where you and i differ my friend
comidies are not somthing i go and see in the theaters.. it's a waste of money in my oppinion.. i'd rather rent them.. if i want to spend good money on comedy i will go see stand up at a comedy club and get myself a real laugh.. scripted comedy cannot compare. |

From what I remember of this,
there was some kidnapping involved. A little girl... I don't really remember... yeh, the monster took people and stored them like underneath the city. Haha. I could be COMPLETELY wrong about this. It's just what I remember seeing. Haha. |
