Kuma is on a distinguished road
Introducing TKG Music

It's time to introduce you to the first two releases on TKG Music, the proud reason as to why we've been relatively quiet as of late.

For the last eight years, we've done a great deal under the Konspiracy Group banner both here in Vancouver and all around the world.

We've represented ground-breaking DJs and live acts like Joe Nice and UFO!, thrown some of Canada's first dubstep shows and worked with names ranging from The Orb to T-Power.

The next step for us in our quest for world domination, or at least our fight against conservative thinking in electronic music, is the launch of our label, TKG Music.

Another extension of the TKG umbrella and ethos, TKG Music is our outlet for sounds unlike anything else out there.

Available now:

TKG001: Gunshae- Traveling Without Memory

Traveling Without Memory is what happens when you take an internationally recognized dub(step) provider (Kuma) and a classically trained oboe player (Eve) and let them jam. It's the end result of seven years of being trapped somewhere between the Big Chill and Mutek.

If you like Stars Of the Lid, Ben Frost, Eluvium or Fennesz, you'll like this. Happily sitting snug in its own corner, Traveling Without Memory fully admits to being too chill out to be sound art and too experimental to be packaged on a chill out compilation with some chick in a bikini on the cover.

Recorded in Vancouver, Atlanta and Tokyo, Traveling Without Memory features guest appearances from Lee Hutzulak, Aya Oshida (Mu-Tanz), Rowan Lipkovits (The Creaking Planks) and Jen Mitchell.

TKG002: Various Artists- Panambient Bento

With this first release in a planned series, we reach across the Pacific to connect the dots between some of Vancouver and Tokyo's brightest ambienteers, all of whom performed together at the Panambient Bento at Bullets in Tokyo's Roppongi district in April 2007.

A Bento is a single-portion takeout or home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine. A traditional bento consists of rice, fish or meat, and one or more pickled or cooked vegetables as a side dish. This is one bento that feeds your sonic appetite with a little bit of everything, no matter where your tastes lie. Tokyo serves up a smorgasbord, from the analogue goodness of Hataken and the idiosyncratic steel pan drums of Yoshio Machida to the blunted pop sensibilities of Mu Tanz, and AEN's metallic sonorities.

Still hungry?

Vancouver's serving it up hot, as Gunshae delivers two slabs of ambience, including a remix of a tune from their debut LP that features Mu Tanz vocalist Aya Oshida. If beats are more your thing, look to Lady Eve's ambling garden samba or Motomasa's future crunk reworking of mysterious drum and producers, Abunaii.

Two contrasting sides of the Pacific; one sonic delicacy.

TKG002: Various Artists: The Panambient Bento

TKG003 is due this fall. We foresee it most likely being Kuma's "Of Silence and Secrecy" EP. A big slab of cinematic dubstep to pull at the waist and the heartstrings.

You can purchase these releases at The Konspiracy Group: Fighting Conservative Thinking In Electronic Music Since 2000 and at Zulu records in Vancouver.

Digital distribution is currently being sorted but it'll be available at all the usual outlets soon enough. If you're that stoked on a digital version, contact us and we'll sort you out.

CD release parties are in Vancouver on July 11th with Hataken, Gunshae and Connect_icut at Blim and on July 26th in San Francisco with Spacetime Continiuum and Kim Cascone.

Warmest regards to you all as we step forward and light out for new territories.
