Usually the most expensive part is the hair. When I had mine, my hair alone was 300.00.
Then I paid 50.00 to have them put in. I had a friend do them though out of her house. She was trained in them and they looked fantastic. They last about 4-6 weeks. then you have to go get the tracks tightened and have them put back in again. The hair alone can last anywhere from 3 months to a year depending on how you take care of them. its really touch and go. Everything depends on how much youre willing to spend and how much time youre willing to put into caring for them. |

i have fusion extensions and IMO they are better than the weave and they last as long as 5 months and you dont need to keep paying for them to get tightened and they look a lot more natural but they cost more. i paid 80 bucks a bag of hair and used 2 bags and my friend also did mine outta her house so she charged me like 100 bucks.....at a salon they can get very pricey

^ After 5 months fusions look downright Nasty.
Im sorry but you hair grows, the glue starts to show and you look like you walked out of a trailor park. Both methods ruin your hair either way so I guess it just depends what look you want. |

CuteNikki, maybe you want to go with clip in extensions so you can add fullness and length from time to time? That way you can experiment with longer hair without the damage. |

yea i was thinking about doing a clip but does it look okay? Since I'm only really doing it for one night (I mean I wouldn't mind having it for a while) but its really only for one evening, I think I might go with a clip...I was thinking of trying the butterflies place in metro..
I wanted this hairstyle http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/6...00a0507vr7.jpg |

^ you would prolly be better off with clip in ones then. yes they look ok. anyone that i know that has had them (including my hairdresser) you couldn't even tell. im sure you can get bad ones and not put them in well but if you talk to someone who knows what they are doing you should be alright. also, if you buy hair that looks natural than that would obviously help. the way some of them clip in is sort of similar to a toupee (sp) clip.

you get what you pay for. if you don't want to spend a significant ammount of $. then yes..you will get a shitty product and shitty job. and a nappy ass weave. (i just wanted to say that) |

Listen to Nevada, buy a set of 7 piece human hair extensions from Abantu - they'll run you approximately $200.
They are incredible, I've had mine for about 6 months and I adore them. I only wear them when i'm getting completely dolled up but my ex coworker who recommended them and wears them everyday says that the quality lasts for about a year and a half. They take 5-10 minutes to put in, you can curl/straighten/dye them and they look completely natural. Whenever I wear them out I get tons of compliments about my hair and IF I tell the person they're extensions they're always completely shocked. Also, they won't damage your hair at all |

I've had both fusion and a weave and I must be totally honest that I prefered the weave. Make sure when you buy the hair its real human hair. You don't want to make the mistake of buying synthetic hair which is like barbie doll hair that melts when you try to curl or straighten it.
Pretty much all the ladies in this thread know what they are talking about :) Its so common to have them these days that its hard to tell who does and who doesn't. I find that now that I have had them multiple times its easier to tell lol Good luck hun! |
