Whats up spewyscoob?? good chillin with you last night! Glad to see you registered here, and even better to see you posting in this horribly neglected thread. This thread has ben so neglected recently that the neglect is palpable...or something...my brain is pacing itself today. For some odd reason the heating system in the downstairs part of my work decided to crank itself up overnight and refuse to turn down. It's uncomfortably warm down here right now and I'm sweating like a priest in a whorehouse. Either that, or I'm sweating like a whore in church, one of the two?? Thank you for your whore-ticipation. |

Hmmm...it appears out poor little post is becoming neglected again...we can't have that now can we?...lol...
But seriously... Julien/Lauren...good to chill with you guys @ Twisted and last nite...thanks for all the hospitality and all that good stuff. Sorry if it seems like I flail & leave...but as I said I was feeling a little ill on Sunday...and then last night was the ever popular night of report writing...wheee! Julien...One of these days I'll have to torment everyone with an attempt on the decks...mebbe when there are as few people possible around...lol. Along the same lines, any thoughts as to what you wanna do about your masterpiece. Two options I've come up with are to either burn the mix in an MP3 format...but I'm not sure if your computer would do OK with that. Option #2 is to burn it to audio CD...this would mean I would have to break it up into 2 CDs...not a big deal for me, but obviously there will be a break in the mix somewhere. Lauren...I don't know if U followed what I was saying about having an adapter-type thingy for your camera...but I think the one I have might work. Next time U're around (if U don't mind, that is) wanna stop by (hey! U can see my place!) and bring U're camera (or just memory card) and we can test it out...if U'll be by soon and don't mind U could keep the Twisted pics on the memory and we can test with those. Julien Part 2...Mike mentioned the gift U gave him...just wanted to say I thought that was super-cool of U... DJDeeb...How'd U like Twisted? All...next party/event? Myself, I'm thinking Max Graham on the 29th...I believe its only $10 in advance... |

answer # 1 Good chilling with you also dan... as always. No worries, i didn;t consider that a flail by any means. That was just a rough morning for everyone it seemed. Last sunday was the first time I've fallen asleep after a party in over a year I think. I usually don't even try cause the shitty "sleep" i ed up getting just makes me feel worse. I don't know what was up with me last Sunday though, I couldn't keep my eyes open. ---** answer #2 As I've said before you're more than welcome anytime! Itr would be great to have more people share the decks with me as my CN rail exhibit is getting fairly old, and I want to hear a new version of: "Steam-engines: a brief history of locomotive derailent". Seriously though, they're all yours anytime. answer # 2.5 I think a burnt version of that mix will probably be the best idea. The last 30 minutes or so should most deffinitely be chopped right the fu*k of. If you've got some time in the next week or so we could go through it and see just how much, if any, is worth salvaging. I'm not too worried about a break in the mix, as there are many, many, harsh sounding transitions present throughout the masterpiece. answer # 3 Ain't no thang dude, my pleasure. answer #4 I'd like to check that out, and ten bucks is cool with me. It's when prices start to hit the 30/40 mark that i hold back. Hope you got that work done last night. Other than that how's the day going for you so far?? Hmmm...well, based on my one or so hour attempt at mixing @ cathy's in the UK, my DJ name should be DJ LD (not, not Learning Disorder, but rather Locomotive Disaster)...man, I was so bad I'd make Amtrak look good.
As for the mix, I can't believe U'd part with the last half hour and the Bruce track! OK, OK, I guess it can be done again. But seriously, it would likely take less time to burn 2 CDs than to listen throuh everything just to eliminate a little bit of time...and its not like CDs are hideously expensive either. In fact, mebbe I'll burn them tonight while I... ...watch Game 7 of the Canucks-Blues series, which I invited Mike over for and am hereby inviting U (and Lauren if she's interested)as well...care to join? Game starts @ 7:30...Mike should be over @ about 7-ish... As for the day, well, it could be better. I didn't totally finish my stuff...Mike came over to get his keys and I flailed and closed a file without saving...damn I felt like such a moron. U'd think I know how to use a computer by now, huh? The, I got to work...after working nights for 7 of the past 8 weeks I had my first shift of 3 straight weeks of days and, in my groggy, delirious state, decided to put my car keys in a supa-safe place...my car - d'oh! I know it was safe 'cuz I couldn't get in there. Thing is, I do this often and ALWAYS have my space key with me...except...for...today. Double-d'oh! Silver lining is I spoke to mall security and they got a tow truck to rescue me at no charge...so perhaps the day is turning around...lol... How's the day with U? |

Now that I think about it you're right, we should probably just copy it all, it'll be easier that way. i can always fast-forward/stop the mix when it gets bunk. I've got a few blank cd's I believe so I'll beam them your way soon. Thanks for the invite Dan, i may just takr you up on that. Iprobably wouldn't be able to make it over until about 8 though... is that cool with you? That sounds like a string of bad luck you had there Dan... up until the free hook-up. That really doesn't happen very often. I find that in most cases where a tow-truck is involved there is usually someone who gets victimised via a dry insertion of some sort. Good to hear you were not that victim! p.s. "DJ Learning Disorder" is the sickest name I've heard in awhile! |

Consider the CDs done...well, to be done tonight once I get home...
8PM is fine...whenever works for U...I think we both know that while some people are underpaid, others are under-appreciated, we are simply under-timed... I couldn't believe my good fortune either...and hey, even the sun is shining now... Actually, upon re-reading my post, I'm becoming kind of partial to the moniker of DJ Amtrak... |
|
|||
under-timed is correct. actually it is an under-statement that we are under-timed. It's all good though, like I said in a post a few scrolls up "gotta pay the bills", right?
Many thanks again for all your help with that mix!!!!! Next time it's you recording for sure! DJ Amtrak in full Effekt! Yes, the sun is shining, and I love it. It makes a huge difference when i leave work into the sunshine rather than into some grey shitty, depressing night. What's your outlook on the game tonight?? |

Well, I'm hoping the Canucks winning will form yet another chapter in the improvement of my day...not that it really improves my life, but it would be nice to see...
Level-headedly...I'm 50/50 on it...on the one hand they have a great team that has shown that they can do some remarkable things...on the other hand they have less playoff experience than St. Louis and have had some bloody awful choke moments of late, such as failing to win the division and the terrible Game 1 loss... ...I think, however, that it will be an entertaining game regardless... |
|
|||
^^
I can't say that my opinion is educated in any way on this one because I haven't followed hockey for about 4 years... regardless though, St louwee is getting a spanking. I think our fans are too rowdy for vancouver to loose! Speaking of rowdy... I was on Robson during the riot when the lost to NY. That was an experience! |

DJDeeb--> I had an excellent time...fell a little short of awesome, but hey, excellent isn't a bad thing either...just a few small pet peeves that prevented it from attaining that level of uber-rave...not to mention it has some pretty high standards to reach to attain the level of rave nirvana that I have experienced at certain magical moments in the past.
Julien--> Your Dep-Ends comment reminds me...didn't Jay get caught without his Dep-Ends and wind up needing to borrow your pass? |

No prob...U (and Lauren) are always welcome...thanks for the bevys and such as well as, from Lauren, the priveledge of jacking her Twisted pics...tho now I'm disappointed that she won't be @ Fusion Dreams...I'll have to find someone new to jack photos from to supplement my own...speaking of which, forgot to bring mine to develop...another day, another flail... ...how's the work world treating U today...?... |

Yeah Lauren had a lot of good pictures from Twisted. I'm glad about that because speaking of flailing: I forgot my camera that night. I'm not 100% sure about fusion dreams yet myself. I wouldn't mind a break from the plaza. I don't know, a little over a year ago a plaza party felt like a big event to me. I've been there a good dozen times I'd say, and it's just not really anything special. I do look forward to going hard at the PNE this summer though. Only been there once for Spooky 6, and that place went absolutely off. It's not like I don't have a good time and enjoy myself at Plaza, just that it isn't anything special/different/exciting etc. It all depends on the talent though, I would forget all about that is say... Judge Jules or Tiesto just happened to be in town. Now that would be an entirely different story altogether. Work is very similair to how it was yesterday, and the day before that: Fairly busy, but not too busy, customers are pissing me off, but now its my lunchtime so I'm gonna go eat. How about your day at work. Is it just that? Just another Wednesday at the office? |
