it's not ridiculous to prefer another festival over shambhala if you've actually been to shambhala. But if you haven't, then your friends are absolutely right in telling you that you are ridiculous for preferring one festival experience over one that you've never even been to. |

Hey Erin and evil-duerr tomorrow you're going to come over and give me a spongebath, because it is ridiculous to tell me that you wouldn't enjoy it or would prefer to do something else unless you have done it. You are talking out of your ass with an uninformed opinion and that makes you a total idiot.

^lol that's a bit of a stretch there stretch armstrong. I'm not saying everybody should or would like shambhala, but in tiedye's case it's basically one bush party over another bush party he's never been to.

The lineup this year is less impressive than the last couple years that's for sure, so I don't feel too shabby about sitting this one out. It is still quite solid though, lot's of a really hot up-and-comers in edm as well as a smattering of big names and a couple legends. My main gripe about it is that it's way too much of the usual suspects, the same old djs who are back every year- they need to switch things up. I think they should give bassnectar the weekend off next year, for real. Whether or not the festival is going downhill is debatable. It is changing though that's for sure. When I compare 2008 to 2006 the differences are noticable. They're going for a more polished, plasticky, consumer friendly model these days. It's starting to feel less like a backwoods rootsy party and more like any other tourist attraction. |

uh business objective acheived. it is too funny when people feel that it has lost it's backwoods feel. the promoter never intended for it to be a tiny little backwoods party. he wanted to make money. of course it is all the things you don't want - it was what he set out to do. |

GAUD you seem to put alot of effort behind this. do you secretly yearn for the type of freedoms that you judge others, ya know, 'dudes on stilts', on?.....I know I do. ++++++++++++++++++++ Anyways the Last Shambhala I was at was in 03. I would of attended more but, I was extremely motivated on achieving my travels around the world every summer since, which prevented from attending. Shamabahal for me, back then, was a revelation. A awesome gathering of swtiched on people, artists, bankers , lawyers, freaks, hippies, normy's , musicians, travelers and really reaaaaly fascinating people. Thats what I got out of it. :). But I do not think I will attend this year. I would like too but there are other festivals that have perked my interest. I am really stoked for UPRISING this year. and this thing people keep telling me about....Soundwave, I dunno...some party by the beach and shit. sup with that?
