You seem really bitter about the Island... I have lived here most of my life, in Victoria for the most part, and I love it here. Hell, most people I know that live on the Island could not imagine living anywhere else.

That's what I did... I live in Richmond. Sure I'm a visible minority because I'm white. But it's better then living in a city full of red-necks

I love the island, but theres not alot out here for a person starting out...job opportunities are limited, rent is expensive, and I'll rate excitement a 4 outta 10. unless its the summer time , then i'd give it a 7.

I've lived in Vic all my life and yes there are times when i absolutely hate it, though it's honestly not that bad! I mean my family's here, i have a great job and live close to my friends. Personally it's not where i am, but who i'm with that makes the difference of enjoying myself or not. That, and i'm perfectly content knowing i fly off to Europe in less than 2 months.

The Island isn't that bad... I've lived in waaaaay shittier places. I find that people on the Island are usually more friendly than the people over here. The big Beef I have is the Ferries. At one point I had to take two of them to get to Vancouver. But now I live here and I'm loving the fact that I'm only 10 minutes from Civilization. :D

Vancouver Island is one of the most beautiful places in BC, if not, its THE most beautiful place in BC. I grew up here and moved off the rock for two years but came back last fall. I couldn't stay away from my hometown, The city has its glories but its much too fast paced for my liking. I think everyone that is born and raised on the island doesnt appreciate it as much because they think they are deprived of everything, (ie. shopping, clubbing) Yes is some cases, but honestly you can only shop so much and party so much until it loses its novelty. The island rules, the people are nicer, the scenery is nicer, the water is clearer, and living expenses are WAYYYYYYYY cheeper.
