Ummm why didn't you utilize this choice? Take a leave of absense.. Since the position stays forever you can go and work for the "Right" company and try it out. If you like it quit your safe job.

it is a conflict of interest to do that. no company in their right, professional, ethical mind would do that. it is against my union contract, and the contract i signed.
