Antidepressants only good for the severely depressed
Antidepressants may only be useful for the severely depressed: study
not only that but antidepressants are of no use for bipolars: Antidepressants no help for most people with bipolar disorder: study what this means is if Britney Spears truly is bipolar, the use of seroquel and other meds is worsening her mood swings and emotional lability. even the OTC antihistamine chlorpheniramine is more effective for getting that go-go girl to no-go. actually, salmon oil; hempseed oil and flaxseed oil in combination with limited intake of 5-HTP and tyrosine, magnesium citrate and valerian is a more effective form of mood stablizer. from the horses mouth. I was fucked without the antidepressant (Celexa), Zyprexa stopped working, Seroquel works like a dream.
And for the holistic approch of eating right, exercise, and suppliments like salmon oil; hempseed oil and flaxseed oil in combination with limited intake of 5-HTP and tyrosine, magnesium citrate and valerian didn't work at all. that's that for me personaly, but at the end of the day the meds are making my life 110% better. |

the big problem for sure is miss diagnosis and the hap hazard/trial and error way they go about prescribing these heavy duty medications.
This seems to be the case for most treatment of mental illnesses though. Things are still bad, but I don't think they've gotten worse. Not even 100 years ago people were being misdiagnosed for lobotomies and electroshock therapy..... yeeeesh. |

yep. When I came off the Zyprexa and onto the Sereoquel I almost ended up in emergency.

well, i have insomnia, and can go without sleep for 24 hours. i get second wind around the 20th hour. but as long as i am not stuck in my room on the internet, i am ok cos i am adverse to scrutiny by others. this is impossible online.
i've found that after taking one 10 mg pill of chlorpheniramine, i wake up with a smile on my face the next morning. i also have a high histamine disorder, which probably worsens the insomnia. |

Antidepressants Don't Work
All of us have different DNA and different metabolisms. Some herbs and vitamins work better than others. The first thing that is needed is proper nutrition and a good physical exam. As the director of Novus Medical Detox, I often see patients who are on alcohol or opioids, central nervous system depressants, also taking antidepressants. When they detox they find they don't need the antidepressants.
This is good news because a Swedish study showed that 52% of the 2006 suicides by women on antidepressants. Since antidepressants work no better than placebos and are less effective than exercise in dealing with depression. There is a prescription drug epidemic and these are leaders in the list of terrible abuses. Steve Hayes Prescription drug addiction help at private medical detox center | Novus |

ps seroquel can definitely fuck you up. i saw it happen to a friend of mine who was just an angsty teen - she was so heavily medicated that she started acting way more fucked up than i think she was aware of. antipsychotics are not helpful IF YOU ARE NOT PSYCHOTIC!!!! hah. damn psychiatrists.
