No, I have one visible piercing (labret) and I hold a 'nice, respectable' job. However, I think my case is pretty much an exception.
No, you don't have to 'start with a stupid hoop', but those kinds of questions you should ask a piercing place. |

so if they're all hidden, we all get a job. Hmmm... does it leave a major scar? I know when I took out my belly ring it left a scar. I've seen friends take out their nose rings or their brow rings and it didn't look so bad. I do realize that some companies won't hire me but i do sport a tongue ring. It's hidden well enuf. But it drives me nutz when I have old ladies say STICK Out your tongue.

yeah finding a job is hard....i have to take my nose ring out for work and i have a tounge ring but those are easily hidden and no one really seems to care......but its hard to find a job with visible percings unless its down town or soemthing..........best bet would be to get a job and then do it..........well ask them first before and if they say yes then its a bonus

I have a rather noticeable piercing in my ear... it's an industrial but instead of going accross the top on my ear it goes from the top to the bottom... it's about two inches long.
I've been at my job for a good year and a half though. When I went for my interview I took my tongue ring out and they didn't know I had one until a good 3 or 4 months later. Like mikey says you can get clear acrylic beads/barbells... they will break easier than the metal ones of course (that is if you have a tendency to munch your tongue ring). I'd advise getting a job before the piercing and finding out your employers standpoint on them. Places like fast food chains and coffee bars and various places downtown don't seem to mind but if you want a higher paying office type of job they almost always do. I know my work doesn't like my new piercings but I've been there too long for them to fire me because of it... that and I rarely leave my office. |

I got my nipple done a few weeks ago. I'm definitely glad I got it done and I can now understand the obsession people have with them. I just told my mom because she's out here visiting. She's not quite sure what to think. She's still getting used to the fact that I have long hair!

i think as time goes on offices and more professional places will loosen up on piercings and tattoos. A lot of places hire by appearances and piercings supposly make someone look rough and tough.. and simply unprofessional. i think places are already loosening up though. my friends mom has a monroe done and shes a cop...cool eh?
i dont think im gonna get any facial peircings.. im close to done. maybe a lil tatoo in a hidden place in the future..if i ever find something symbolic. and in the future i'll get my tongue done. im happy with my 6 holes right now... im feining for more metal through my body though. |

I still want a labret. My worries is if it will look professional and of course fuck up my front teeth. I need my pearly whites. Besides, I think it's a hot deal. I mean if I grow out of it, I can always take it off. I plan only to have a super super small stud like those super nice nose ring ones. *shrugs* we'll see. I just need to know if it'll look good on me.
