that's exactly one of my dilemmas.. I think it would be neat to do something artsy and creative, but realistically that's going to be hard. It's not like academics where you can keep learning and so long as you study and get a degree, you'll be okay. You have to have some amount of talent, and a lot of dedication. There's also a lot of competition as well, I heard that to get into Animation in ECID you have to be one of the 17 people out of the 400(?) chosen.. i mean that's helluva lot of artists to compete against.
Even if I decide not to do something artsy as a career, I'll always have it as a hobby, in maybe I can teach later on in life. so that's an alternative.. the idea of not being able to incorporate it within a career bums me out a bit, but i've been leaning towards striving to get a more stable job..
like you, I feel that I'd like to "make some decent money and have a good income to keep my hobbies/dreams alive.." Lately, i've been swinging more towards the sciences.... Cuz I know that I'm not an idiot, and as long as I can collect the motivation then I can finish whatever schooling I set my mind to...it's just... deciding which direction I want to follow is the hard part. I also think about the fact that I want to travel when I'm older, and I want to be able to have a life that can provide that.
decisions like those...
