should I apply for starbucks?
lol, the new west starbucks is hiring. I grabbed a form through the pestering of a buddy. im filling out the thing right now, as I do so im pondering the situation.
some extra cash, gotta work a weekend shift, get a pimpin apron, ect ect anyone ever worked at a bucks? worth it? .mYles

I've worked there for about a year now. And while it's not my dream job, it's not _that_ bad company to work for...if you're alright with the whole
"bigbadamericancompanyseekingglobaldomin ationkindathing" The benefits are way better than most shit jobs and they offer stock options. (I dunno if that's your thing but it's defienately something to keep in mind) Keep in mind, caffiene addicts can be worse than a jib tek with severe drug cravings. i just started at a starbucks, and am finishing my training, ive worked at alot of shit jobs, so it is finally nice to work somewhere where my coworkers are not shit.
and the benefits, and free coffee, and paycheques is nice as well. im really liking it.

umm..how much do they usaully start at?
and ive heard that they only offer stock options and benifits if you work like 20hrs or more a week. and myles, what lcation in new west...the one downtown on clumbia or the one uptown on 6th? abd whats a starbucks 'slam' like for a barista? is it at all comparable t a high volume cook?

 Corporate wh0re! Ha Ha! J'k. Do it up and you can hook me up with a tall extra wet, half-sweet vanilla skim latte. (Figure that shit out.) I fuckin hate when people order weird ass coffee orders. Thank god the Starbucks at my work only serves Coffee, Latte's, Mocha's & Cappuccino's. I make a mean mocha. :PartEkid: Remeber to swirl the mocha syrup around the sides cup and not just squirt directly to the bottom. `t1m PS - For all you people buying a Cappuccino, your wasting your money and stop trying to be sheek. I think it would be a great thing Myles, many people over rate coffee shops,
i.e.. Its too hard to make drinks blah blah blah, But I think it would totally be worth it. Plus you meet some weird and crazy people. Go for it!

I worked there - benefits, free coffee, stocks etc
but on the flip side i found it pretty demanding - i got in hella trouble for muttering about it only being coffee i guess i didnt realize how important coffee is to some people!!! I loved my apron and im almost thinking about going back - just not to the drive thru "hello welcome to starbucks what can i get for you today" i got teased all the time for sounding like a phone sex operator

Why not apply for it? Even if you don't fully want to work there, try to get an interview because as life goes on you'll be looking for work more than once. And the toughest part can often be the interview because its so hard to really practice for it. So think of it (at a minimum) as good interview practice for the future. If they offer and you really don't wanna work there you can always decline the position. If your decide its not for you you can always quit. If it does work out, more payola for the important things in life - drugs, booze, parties and porn.

I work at Starbucks, too. I like it more than I thought I would actually.
As has been mentioned: benefits/stock/free coffee....and its better than fast food, also very difficult to get fired from, pretty cool management from what I've encountered, high-paced environment (makes the time go fast)....
