haha. me too. I think i come across as stand-offish a lot of the times..especially when I'm feeling anti-social and am forced into a social situation. I'm just better and more comfortable with talking to some one ONE ON ONE rather than in a group situation. Otherwise, I'm girly shy.
I think that immersing yourself in social situations helps sometimes. Working retail got me into the groove of forcing fake smiles and pretending to be somewhat social and happy all the time. some guys seem to like shy girls.. it gives them a sense of control maybe?.. so it might work in your favor some time. |

im sorta the same way....if im around a women who i am not attracted to, im totally myself and act like a freak.....if those feelings change, or if its a women im attracted to, i start to think WAY too much and analysize what they say and shit....this usually leads to me making an ass of myself.
if this problem is generally with guys your into, i suggest forgeting about them in that way and think of them as just a friend. that approach seems to seldomy work:P |

^^thats the worst advice you could ever give someone
i know people who have become alcoholics because of this. (adults too) no confidence, get hammered before going out or going to meet people and think that it would be easier for them to get through the night. its a huge problem |

Welcome to the club...
I have difficulties meeting new people. I have the same problem with not knowing what to say. Once I meet them and have talked to them for a good hour or so, I can usually chat it up like it was nothing. Try and just pass them off as a good friend of yours. So what if you don't know them... a stranger is just a friend you haven't met. Or they're a person who you don't want to know, but haven't figured that out yet -jay :209 |
