Hey Baby *hugs*
It's okay to be mad.. everyone gets frustrated with people once and a while. but you have to keep your head intact.
You have to remember that you once was .. not so good either and that you have a lot of help didn;t you when you were starting out to get where you are now..... didn't you? well to them you are their .. teacher in a way.. and if you have to be the one that teaches them one thing or another. . when you watch them do their little thing you can have that thought of .. you taught them that. But if you don't want to put up with everything.. it's okay too.. not everyone puts up with things they don't need to. love - yung |

I hear ya Myles!
Well...I was involved in modelling and theatre from grades 8-12. So I totally understand where you are coming from. In my first years, there were always those snobby people looking down on me and my friends. We always wondered what that was all about. We kind of hid in their shadows throughout the years. Discussed how one day WE'D be the stars and we'd be the ones shining NOT them!
Sure enough I hit my grad year and half those friends were gone. You notice that one? Half the people you worked hard with were gone!? Lost interest! I also agree with you that when you are the oldest in the group there are no others. I noticed that...rehearsing a musical and there's all these annoying little kids running around, driving the director nuts and me sitting there pulling my hair out! You work so hard to get to the stage you are at and then who do you have to work with? Younger, inexperienced students! However, you MUST keep in mind that, that WAS you at one point in time. That those older students were whom YOU looked up to. Whether you will admit it or not...you did. If it weren't for them, having extreme amounts of patience, strenous amounts of effort and time...you wouldn't be where you are now. I simply believe it's karma. Since they worked so hard with you and it payed off...you must take the time, effort and patience you have learned to have and use it to help those younger and inexperienced than you. Part of life is always rising to the challenge. Though some you just would rather leave alone, you must attempt them. These kids could very well be your own prodegies. I have been in this situation and it is very annoying to work with a bunch of people who don't take things as seriously as you do. Though that can be the case when working in theatre in highschool. However, I think you should sit down with the group as a whole and discuss things. One thing you'll learn is to NEVER go to someone else about things like this. It will always blow up in your face, as you experienced. But I do agree it is like you're making yourself to be that much better than them...but you know what? YOU ARE! You've worked so hard to be at the level you are, and you deserve to work with people that are that honest, sincere and serious about this as you are. So I say, sit down, discuss things...because I've seen it happen to other people when I was in school....it literally WILL ruin your career at that school if you don't handle things right! Anyways, good luck & let me know how things go! :c-tard: |

that would be so dissapointing and i totally know what your going through!
actually, the same thing happened to me, except it wasn't for improv....but i was part of this team thingy for 3 years also and i thought i'd be moving ahead to the next level....NOPE i got stuck behind with all the kids who couldn't do their freakin jobs!! (this happened like, 6 or 7 years ago and it still ticks me right off cause it was something that i absolutely loved doing) and i tried to work with them.and teach them nicely a little bit, but they wouldn't fuckin listen! they'ed just dink around, doing what they thouht was right..which wasn't (this was a competative sport where we competed against several other teams at once so doing things fast and accurate was really important) and because of these dim-wits, we got disqualified almost every compition!!
i couldn't take it anymore! going to these things were SO INCREDIBLY frustrated and embarrassed, so i just quit!..didn't tell anybody on my team or nothing cause they were just morons and i really didn't care bout them (this is coming from a very, very sympathetic girl..) i regret quiting with all my heart, but i just couldn't stay with that team. but yeah..enough of my story....my advice would be to get everyone together in your group and tell them what you really meant instead of this chick stretching the truth and making you look bad *sighs*for a second there i almost forgot about rumors and gossip (i've been out of the loop for a little while) and yeah, make a copy of your message even! like these people will never make it in life if they can't take a little critisism :219: *this post has made amanda a little bitter* rrrar! GOOD LUCK! :D: |
