Teaching Yoga to Disabled Kids.
I found a teacher to teach me to teach Yoga for kids with disablities. Mental and other:
Im very excited. I dont really want to be a nanny anymore! I also want to teach yoga for kids like 5 and under, then also 6 to 10. and baby mom yoga. its so great when you sort of stumble onto something to help you on your way. sort of Trust in the Flow of the universe and it will provide. |

children really get into it.. kids yoga is more fast paced.... like THIS IS A TIGER everyone go to a tiger pose and go GGUURRRRR
its more fun and strechy... it gives children a longer attention span and teaches them to stop listen and relax :) its cool |

^ You're so right. We've done yoga with our students at the school I work at, first thing in the am when they arrive, and it totally grounds them for the day. They are alert, focused, and settled. They are so good at it too! Hehe :)
Enjoy!! |

One of the mom's in our grade 4/5 split class is teaching them Yoga. I think its awsome... however I have my little girl who is both physicly/mentaly challenged trying to do what all the other kids are. We have a few moves we can adapt, but for the most part im putting alot of my own stragth trying to get her to move around :p
Do you have any sugestions on how to help? Right now she can do anything standing up, sitting, and the cobra (leans on her elbows) My biggest difficulty is trying to get her to do the cat and cow streach. Her legs and back are strong, but she has very weak control with her arms. Where also very SLOW when it comes to moving from one position to the other ie. hard to adapt when there doign more cardio excercises. Last edited by Ree Fresh; May 22, 06 at 03:09 PM. |
