i aim to walk about 5+ hours a week in half-hour to an hour bouts. it tends to keep my metabolism up enough that I can do a job where i sit on my ass all day and not start to puff up like so many other people stuck in the call center game.
best way to keep your metabolism up isn't aerobics. it's light excercise for extended periods of time. kata-based martial arts (tai chi, or kung fu if you like a workout) are also good for this. also i'm bad about my money so i go for three-to-four day periods where all i eat is one meal a day. but usally during those periods i'm as lethargic as possible. one is a healthy way to keep the pounds down, one is not. but that's the gemini in me, i suppose. |

I use to struggle with weight issues in highschool I lost a bunch: then it seemed I should lose more spent almost 3 yearsw with severe "Anorexia Nervosa" I would yo-yo alot My higest in highschool was 103 and my lowest was 73! Then I went though DR's and natural paths ect. quit school and got fat and lazy :) But when I need to shed a few Walking is always the best.. walking and YAM diets. |

check out this page its mainly focused on bodybuilding but theres some key points made about nutrition.
http://forums.bulknutrition.com/?showtopic=27893 Most people will agree that diet is about 90% of losing weight. Keep that in mind when you down a 6 bottles of beer. Stay clear of any saturated fat b/c this shit will ruin you. |

SKim milk is rad.
Bikram yoga is good stuff and eating goods that don't send your blood sugar rocketing are essential to sedding the belly chubb. Check out the G.I diet, its ridiculously easy to follow and it makes good sense without getting rid of all your carbs or treats. Smart choices, excercise and consistancy will get you where you want to go....remember cardio doesn't just burn calories, it increases your metabolic rate - so it's a must! |

although i've never been chubby, i've never been satisfied with my body either, and the last couple months have been really tough. i've been down, and am lucky enough (ha) to be someone who deals with depression by eating crappy food, and drinking heavily (healthy!) finally decided to, well, suck it up and make the choices that'll make me happier, so am back on board a health regime.
limiting the booze and sweets (one drink and one sweetie a day if desired, both are too integral to my sense of well being to do away with completely at this stage!), and making the bulk of my diet veggies, fruits, lean protein and whole grains. i'm quite active (waitressing is all effing walking), but want to really get my heart pumping and build so more muscle mass, so am incorporating lots of cardio and circuit training into my life. today's day 1, so we'll see how it goes. haha. |
