Children of Bodom is pretty much made up of them, Kalmah has like two...haha Niko Mcbrain even. Ok, so maybe Meshuggah not so much, but still SO many. Apocalyptica - Kaamos <--- goooooooood :)

Bringin' back an oldie..... so is anyone else pickin' up on some decent stuff lately? Newer bands?
Lately I've been listening to the following (I listened to most of them before but I've been diggin' on them again recently): Terror - Always the Hard Way is a fantastic WC hardcore album Killswitch Engage - As Daylight Dies (Their best yet????) DragonForce - Power metal!!! hahaha The Melvins - (A) Senile Animal - sludge rock pioneers... worth a listen or 20 Lamb of God - Redneck is one of the best songs of 2006 - THIS IS A MOTHERFUCKING INVITAION!!!!!! Mushroomhead Facecage - Produced by Corey Taylor....heavy as fuck Stolen Babies - They call this shit spooky-core....gay ass name for a genre but a fun listen either way Converge Deftones - Saturday Night Wrist is hands down their best album ever IMO Hatebreed - Supremacy - Jasta is back harder than and angrier than ever SO!?!?! What have all you other metalheads been pumpin?

Life Against Death Mass Grave Low Life Onslaught Enchanted Faeries (dude can go from sounding like GWAR to Corpsegrinder in seconds without a pause between words) Leper (They aren't death metal, they're grindska.. but they have their moments and deserve a shout out since they regularily play with many of these bands) If you get a chance to see any of these bands, elbow someone in the pit just for me =)

Haha, yeah.. seven years old. I was always into old horror movies.. Vincent Price, Bela Lugosi.. B-list HP Lovecraft-inspired films.. Sam Raimi's stuff.. then the 'Devoured By Vermon' video came out on MuchMusic late one night and it reminded me of those films.
It helped that I had been a Metallica fan since kindergarten due to finding a cassette tape of 'Master of Puppets' on my way home one day. Metalhead for life.

Nah man, you've got me all wrong. I wasn't really pointing out anything.. just one of the last bands that comes to mind when I think of a death metal thread is the Melvins. I'm a big fan of them though.
And I'm a big fan of the term 'math metal' personally. It's coined from using complex time signatures, usually changing throughout a tune. I give serious credit to any drummer that can keep it tight in a math metal group.

..I hear this in my head a lot "You missed Cryptopsy....You MISSED Cryptopsy?... how in the HELL did you Miss Cryptopsy...".. and then I cry. ....I dont think I'll forgive myself any time soon.

I have the whole pantera discography on my computer at work and i listened to all of it on tuesday.
Not really a big metal guy, but DragonForce was one of the most fun concerts i've been to. I left that place completely drenched in sweat, my pants were dripping. Going to give some shout outs to MudVayne, SlipKnot, Kittie. Not really metal, but going to add FrontLine assembly in the mix. Also another one of the best concerts i've been to.
