*tears*
Straight up, I love the big parties. The more people the more intense the vibe in my opinion... plus the DJ lineups at Plaza were always smokin. The 2 best paties I went to were both at Plaza and Im gonna miss it... but I dont think the rave scene is gonna go down at all. Either way we'll always come back to party. :love1:

imf03 was ticket master, last party I remember.. and that had a shitload of people. They need that much publicty just to pay for the venue! More people/higher prices = better headliners / bigger parties.
I find the rave scene dying, slowly.. but all parties are being broken up, it's just a matter of time until people just stop going because of it. It's tiresome. |

Plaza parties were fun but never really my thing, but illegal venues as we have all seen get shut down by the police, and are only as safe for the attendees as the promoter's morality dictates, which varies from promoter to promoter. Underground isnt a bad thing, but if the underground is to remain underground there needs to be an above-ground component layered over top to keep the underground as the underground and keep it from going mainstream; we all saw the crackdown of 2000/2001 on underground venues and that didnt do any good for anyone. Hopefully a few good new legit venues will be scouted other than the Colliseium or BC or GM place, ones that are affordable enough for any promoter making a serious attempt at throwing a first class event to obtain with as few legal hangups as possible. |

Did anyone ever make it to a party at the old Memorial Arena? |

I may be crazy but I predict that after almost two decades of party the rave culture as we know it is about to head into a period of mass cooption by mainstream media. If it goes down the way that punk rock has over the past few years then I am glad to see that the Plaza is gone, so not to be used in the future. The plaza in an icon of the rave scene on the west coast and I am happy to say that it will not see the immenant arrival of the "MTV Raver" which I predict lays only a mear 5- 10 years away. That's my bit. Thanks for Readin'.

Hopefully it'll get rid of all those barstars out there... massives such as plaza and IMF were full of em...
i think raves should go back to the underground parties they once were... pure... Plaza gave a publicized bad label to the word "rave"... Last edited by Vitamin~J; May 23, 04 at 03:23 AM. |

^yea. the big freaks are part of the massive fun. it would be no fun to go to a plaza party and not see the old asians do the TAICHI.
but i was watching 'tiesto in concert' yesterday and I started craving for another massive. and I hate to have to travel for just a massive party. |
