Everytime I go to events, I remember what it used to be. I remember the fad of phat pants and baseball caps and funfur and colorful prints on shirts instead of bras and mini skirts/booty shorts and gangsta gear.
I think that going to events nowadays is getting expensive and I don't know how some of the kids can afford to go to them anymore. I don't like to see those same kids that just paid 50-100 for a ticket so high out of their minds that they won't even remember anything about the party. I partied when I was 15, but I seemed to have ppl around me telling me not to do drugs. I stayed up all night and was so excited about the night rather then the drugs. I don't think you can just teach someone PLUR. I wish that I could just go up to some of the girls at these events and show them that you don't have to show off your body to have fun. It's a rave, not stewies sexy party. |

Man we seriously need some small venuesI agree with what was said in the first few posts its far easier to come out to a small event and get to know a crowd I am always bringing in as much fresh blood as i can and i always try and steer clear of large events for first timers but thats just me and like the smaller eevnts my self much more personel i would love to see more events like peanut butter jamz amazing show good people and the best venue i have ever seen

generally i think we need bigger and better venues for both legal and illegal shows...the maritime sucks ass and i doubt i'll ever go to a party there again...and better headliners. i wouldnt spend 50 for a party at the maritime with shitty headliners, no chance. but i would spend 20 for a good headliner in a smaller venue. and as a dnb lover i must say..march is rockin it this month for the dnb scene and i cant complain all that much! good shows, pretty good venues and REALLY good djs! ohhh yeah! |

ive been loving the smaller parties lately as well.. nothing wrong with paying 15 bucks for the night and not have the annoying kids running around that you have at the big venues. ive got nothing to complain about. march has been great, and can't wait for the next few smaller parties coming up. gonna be off the hook!!

^ ya a new massive venue would be nice, but thats a toughy these days in Vancouver.
It would definetly give some appeal to the rave scene in van though. Trance does suck but it brings in the $$$. We need variety do we not? Though I really don't care much for trance. I would just wish more people would be open minded and be willing to experience ALL forms of Electronica. Maybe if they actually learned about electronica more, and was brought into the scene properly they would act better. Most of my friends i've brought in were prettty normal as a result of seein me go casually and meeting my friends. but than again most of these new ravers come in with new ravers who don't know anything as well |

- massive raves with many rooms for a variety of music
-- main room (trance, techno) -- second room (hardtrance, hardstyle, gabber) -- third room (goa/psy trance,) -- forth room (house, dance, electro, funk) -- fifth room (rap,hip-hop,r/b) with a decent big place, the ticket prize will be cheaper, but will we ever have a stadium used for rave like they do in sensation white/black!?!? /end_dream |

wtf, 3 rooms of just trance? are u dumb? wheres the dnb and breaks room(s?) The rap/hiphop/rnb rooms , ya.. right. now, for the whole sensation white/black. IMF is probably going to be Vans biggest massive. There just isnt enough people to fill up a stadium just like sensation. new the scene? |

Okay I thought about the whole age limit thing, if you want to make an age limit at rave you better be ready for the cut in sale's your going to get. You know how many young kids go to raves. Hell I was 15 at my first party, and Im still only 18 mind you I havn't been to a party in like a year. I think if people want an 18+ age limit they should just fucking go to a club. I think what the scene need is more venues good ones. We all know that nothing will change any time soon. I remeber this same thread in 05. We still have the same shit being argued about and it'll just keep going like this for years to come.

Wow some of these ideas are just retarded
It’s funny seeing all these junglists going….”omg we need less trance! That will improve the scene” First of all, you are partly why the scene is a shit hole. On one side we got booty shorts and gangsters, on the other side we have jaded ravers who hate on anyone that does not wear a camo hat. Ok, rule number one, you are not better than anywhere else. And two, the trance market, is a much bigger market than the jungle one, so it makes sense why every promoter is looking out for huge trance headliners. Someone has a different taste than you? Respect it. How can we improve the scene? 1) Jaded ravers – please get your head out of your ass, and if you want to promote “good ol’ PLUR”, do it, and do it right, otherwise just leave everyone alone. 2) Promoters and everyone else – educate the new crowd on the topic of rave. Raves are NOT club parties, so club rules such as wearing skanky underwear and heavy gangster gear do not make you cool. Raves are not for scouting out hoochies, or impressing anyone with your hard rock pecks. So if you are looking to get laid, go to a club, in my mind, raves is where you can meet new people, have fun, and dance your heart out. It seems all pretty common sense, but the new crowd simply does not know any of this, because there is no one to teach them. Smile – The rave scene is lacking the smiles. I think if we could all look at one another from time to time, and put a smile on, the world would be a better place. Last edited by Only_Glory; Apr 07, 06 at 12:20 AM. |
