First Simple Review
I am soo tired. I flailed alot tonite.. And Mr Dj Antoine made me smile alot.

dj neutron and volume were wack!! SOrry but they were@ They werent spinning anything close to funky breaks.. I think Cinto and me played a way better set than both of them put together! Crowd was small...Didnt matter. Watch Antoine play!! Was the sickest!!! I have never seen a guy up on stage and interact with the crowd on a level the way he did~ A-----MAZ----ING!!!
And i dont even like house! PS, VOLUME AND NEUTRON SUCKED AGAIN~! just had ta let ya know yo! Never bring these fuckers out cause they aint worth what they are askin~! |

antoine...omg. he made me jump up and down screaming... TO HOUSE. no house dj has ever done that to me.. it was a first for sure. seeing his set made my night. seeing kenny in heaven made me smile!
neutron was OKAY..but volume was a disappointment. i guess it just wasn't my type of breaks. i was simply feining for breaks last night and i got a good dose from cinto and precise. the funkier the better. after 3 days of intense vball and goin to teh party right after.. ive reliezed im getting old and im just running my body down...SO tired. my upper body was sore from ball, now my whole body is soreeeee.... i need a massage. the party was fun.. kept me on my feet dancing.. met lotsa outta towners. i liked the small crowd... and the bboys were amazing. not a bad nite at all~ i was acting like an idiot last nite... party started off real slow = me bored = me doing stupid pointless acts. |

Antoine was the shit!! wow.. he had everyone up jumping and screaming. it was great!
I was definitely feeling the house room =) Overall I had a pretty good time. The third "room" was different.. made it feel like a smaller, non-plaza party. I've never seen it set up that way, mind you I've only been to the plaza a couple times. So who all bought mountain madness tickets? hehe |

Marty and Adam spun the best set of the night.
First time spinning at a large party and they were near perfect with mixing and wicked track selection. They got almost everyone who came early to the party bumping on the dancefloor. I would have loved to see what the crowd would have been like if they spun later that night. Good job boys. |

The venue was perfect, the dj's were great but where was everyone?It's a shame because this party had 90% of all the elements needed to rock the plaza except high numbers into and beyond the 2400 person mark. In terms of everything else, the stage decor was exceptional and the sound was full. I had a good time but missed Montana & Rez's set :n:. I thought Antoine rocked the house and Mr German in the main room threw down hard. Mike Downey- Does it get any bassier? Nice to hear your latest style. Cece and I were diggin it but couldn't get in close to say hello :( .As for locals, Lando and Hirshee pummelled the house room with 80's remixes and funky ass shit the whole way through. Hirshee layed down some unheard mixes I'd definitely consider stocking into my crate :y:.
Alvarez rocked it too but skipped Antoine's set twice. BoooOOOooO..complete accident i guess and Antoine wasn't even phased by it. I should have some pics in the photo gallery a little later on. fORM for now check out Antoines site http://www.djantoine.ch/index.cfm |

antione made my night..the only room that had a semblenace of a vibe was the BC room during his set...that boy is one with the funk.
as for the rest of the party..blah. the bits and pieces of cosmic gate and mike downey's sets whihc i got were pretty dope. i really liked some of the hard techy tracks that cosmic gate played. other then that ive made a resolution...to never be sober at a plaza party again. beleeeeeh oh and what was up with that wack dj in the wanna be theatre room..i think it was verbal assian...don't let that kid on the decks at a party ever again. oh and the set up in the main room was tite..i loved how they had the two parrallel rigs with ALOT of trackspots on each side, the visual screens were tite too. It wouldve been tite if they mounted a argon lazer above the visual screens on the stage firieng perpendicular to the trackspots. Man that would put alot of etards into hyperspace :). I understand that presales weren't as good as they should be so that would rule out a expensive laser rental, and im glad that azim kept the full lineup even tho the party didn't do aswell as it should have. So heres my review..
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Arrived at plaza super early, waited inside for about 2 hours before they let everyone in... Aaron actually convinced me to travel to Australia one day!! So the doors open.. Walk onto the main floor. The main floor was pretty good. Way more sound and lighting then spooky =) There were some cool statues of david here and there Up the escalator, they are setting up the sound in the main lobby entarance. I thought this was actually a rad set up, at first i thought it totally wouldn't work out but it did. Some hiphop tunes as you walk in and get searched=good idea The house room was pretty typical, lush plush decorated the dj booth nicely. It would be rad to see the whole room done lushplush style, but it still looked good! Setup: Main Room : Lighting/visuals - 8/10 Sound - 8/10 Decorations/props -8/10 Bc Room Lighting/visuals - 7.5 Sound - 7/10 <needed to be way louder and there seemed be a few needle problems.. which is expected here and there Decorations/props - 8 >the dj booth looked koo Upstairs Lobby Lighting/visuals - 6 Sound - 4 > I don't think the djs realized the speakers were clipping and it was turned up too loud.. the sound system was appropriate for the room. it was just a matter of the volume was past the speaker threshhold. Decorations/props - n/a - nothing expected for this room. Lets fast-forward 2:30am Lando and Hirshee dropped some nice tunes and a few tunes i can't find anywhere!! Jerks =) Alveraz was pretty solid as well So its 2:30 Mr Antoine peeks his head out onto the stage. w00t w00t! It took him a while to get warmed up, his first few tracks were building tracks, nothing super crazy, just building tracks.. then we got hammered with sick basslines for an hour and half. 80% of those tunes i've never heard before, it was RAD. I flailed alot. There were about 10 of us that flailed the whole set front and center. Props to you! So much fun.. He had a rad sugarhill gang remix that made me wet.(if anyone knows the track ID i'll buy em a drink!) Highlite of the nite was De nuit.. He threw that down twice, it kicked A$$. I left after Antoine, so i couldn't tell you how the rest of the nite went.. Re-reading this review, it seems like a shitty review but personally i had an amazing time. This was the best plaza party i've ever been to. The bc room IMO had a lilttle bit of a vibe and it seemed like everyone was dancing the nite away. I usually feel ripped off at plaza parties, but this morning i feel that was the best money i've ever spent. I wanna thank Azim for not canceling Antoine b/c of low numbers. Props! May this be an example for all promoters, no matter what happens.. The Show Must Go On!! |

This party was off the damn hook. Wicked vibe to it was small. I was expecting alot more. Whats happening with twisted now aday's? they stoped everything at 7am right on the dot azim was ready to go all packed up kinda hurting i think everyone paying 60+ dollars to go see his show's. Sound system was better this time then spooky still you could hear crackilin bad. overall good party nice vibe.

i agree that Simple had all the elements be a great party. but no ppl... On mainstage, that was some of the best lighting i've ever seen in the plaza. the sound was dope. my ears are still kinda def.
matty vs dabbler w/ verbal assassin, that was a great way to start off the "theater" room. Propz to mc Ruckus? and that other mc with a goatee. spitting shit out with the breaks and jungle beats.. it was crazy. neutron was pretty sick for his first time to van In the B/C room im glad that they didn't flip the carpets... dj antoine was nuts. cinto's needles kept fucking up or somthing... but he still got the party rockin. precise - insane/ hipnotizing!!!!!!!! wicked scratching. I must say i had a good time last night!!....Got there to see Res and Montana's set...Excellent job guys:y:......i think they had the crowd going off more than any other dj that night in that room.......DJ bosi ( played some sik tracks ).... DJ Antoine's set had the best vibe.......BUt i think the highlight of the night would be chattin it up with Graham Gold then watching his set ( I love the way the guy mixes - layering the tracks onttop of one another) AWSOME!!!!
Very suprised tho at the crowd at this party.....no one seemed into it very much.......except for in the house room:) |

Yes indeed, I tried my best, but due to a situation beyond my control i was unable to do what i wanted to do, and appologize for this. Besides this unfortunate situation i did have a lot of fun and meet a lot of new people, and saw some old buddies. I know i was very upset when i left the show right after my set and like to personaly appologize for it.. it really wasn't towards anyone and i was yelling or flailing or anything, but Kraig you know what i mean and i'm sorry bro it was nothing towards you man!
I would put some props out but i'm not gonna list everyone! cause i know i would forget peeps. so here are some of the newer people i met at the show and just wanted to say hi again! ummm.. well we sold moutain madnees ticket for the first 3 hours w were there.. (12-3) so dont exactly know wut was going on.. haha.. but still had a -awsome- time listening to trance.. but meet a few of you fnk'ers while working there..and ran into some old ones.. I SOLD 20 TICKETS!!!! GO ME! Also... nicole and I met some yankees.. and sold tickets to them... and we get free tickets to resolution this year :D but after that.. went and danced to some yummy beats.. DJ antoine was.. mmmMMMmmm GOOD! twas fun dancin with all you peeps!! yeah, I need sleep.. damn mind...cant think /me dies umm.. yeha.. I canthink.. I'll write more later.. |
