Light aka DARK FADER is a DJ of mystery. Cast to the shadows of Vancouver's Electronic Music scene. He watches. Recognized, but unknown to most. A Dj of great talent and endless passion. The Leftenant has paid his dues. A DJ since 1999 Chris has played numerous clubs, parties and after hours throughout Western Canada. Discovered by Phoenix Olivia in 2002, Chris was asked to join the “Soldiers of the Underground”, a collective of conscious artists dedicated to musical expression using all mediums of instrumentation. An intriging performer, to see Chris DJ live is a magical experience. Always on the mix, deeply focused and entranced. Channeling mind melting mixes of digital soundscapes. Rolling and tribal, his music comes alive. Chanting, pulsing, raw with emotion. He stands a cosmic messenger, conducting a symphony of tones. His love for the music radiates as he opens his mind and heart to audience. As with most DJ's, time eventually led him to the studio and for the last two years Chris has been learning about track composition. Collaborating with his long-time friend Adin Bennet, an audio technician that has worked on compositions for the Juno award winning TV show "Cold Squad". Their first track "To Be" created Under the alias “A-Bomb and DARK FADER” at “The Bomb Shelter” the studio designed by Haven Siguenza and Adin, along with Chris's track "Savier" was featured on the Soldiers of the Underground compilation CD "Passion" which was released in Spring 2004. Chris is currently working on his first album to be completed in 2005. In his free time Chris enjoys exploring nature, Creative Visualizing through meditation or thrashing the streets of Vancity, rockin’ hi-tops on his “deluxe” skateboard with his pal “B”. Lt.Light has found his true path. With endless waves of knowledge on the horizon, Chris is looking to the future with an open mind and an open heart. Embracing the moments as they arrive, he remains focused and dedicated to the music he loves... Last edited by DARK FADER; Mar 25, 06 at 03:55 PM. |

you forgot to mention your irritating habit of writing your name on all your records and then selling them to Otis
:P but hey I'm not complaining too much I picked up a couple good tunes from there that once belonged to u... including one breaks tune I've hunted for 6 years now |
|
|||
Sorry, If it bugs you that I sign my old tracks. Just think if it wasn't for me you wouldn't have found that tune. Every record I play represents a time and place within the span of my physical life. When I let them go It's like letting go of a piece of my life so I "tag" eack track as a seal of approval. I also "tag" each track as a form of promotion. Aside from being annoyed about my tag you probably wondered who this DARK FADER guy is. Your mind and subconscious then take care of the rest. I glad you found the track, if you're into progressive(house,trance,breaks) I'll be playing at UNION@Plush this Sat Jan 8 Check it :+=

LOL.....yeah i got a couple of your old records....lol Pretty smart idea i think. Shame that i missed your set at Plush the other night though ( didn;t even know that you were on the bill |

yeh it's a good form of promotion, but I'm one of those firm believers that my records are sacred... so I like to keep them as pristine as possible (which is sometimes tough if you have gigs that u gotta go to in the rain or snow! haha)
if that's what works for u then that's what works for u :) |

Thanks for the props guys. What can I say, I'm desperately in love with music. It's a passion inspired by my spirit, that runs deep into my soul. I just got a book from my good friend Oliver Low called "The world is sound, Music and the landscape of conciousness by nada brahma". I can't wait to read it. The book links music to spiritual healing and explains how sound effects us from the molecular level to spritual level and more. Just to let everyone know, I'm also working on my first full album of original works which I hope to release in the fall so keep an eye out. :+=
