Let's all make smarter comments :P
ANYWAY I was surprised to hear a lot of non-ravers talking about this party.. Seems to happen with Evolve parties alot, which is good! Rag on the noobs all you want, but more ravers=more parties! |

I don't really think he's being childish, his concerns actually seem pretty legitimate. Did anyone who was trying to stick up for their promoter friends actually read what he wrote?
There's a lot of whiny dj's out there, but there are also a lot of promoters that take their talent for granted. Rememer everyone, it's all about the music and most people pay money to go to parties to see the talent, and quite often with the way I've seen some promoters treat djs that gets overlooked. If you're calling the DJ childish, then the promoters are just as childish for coming on and stating their reply and their opinion on the matter in the exact same 'childish' way the dj initially did. A smart thing to do would be not to comment and take this to e-mail. My comments of course are intended to be put forward with all due respect to all parties involved as I don't have any personal affiliations with any of them. oh and Quote:

The whole grocery store analogy was intended to be a joke, as I think the mental image of someone doing that is hilarious.
I guess I wasn't making my point clear, which is that there are more appropriate ways of dealing with matters such as these. |

The situation:
We apologized for the sudden cancellation, explained why, and offered to do any bussines related talk related to the contracts (which was to be done regardless...) but with the sudden appearance of Kris's thoughts allover Canadian boards sparked this controversy... What would you do if you got punched in the face? This topic is done.... The party is less than 3 weeks away...whos ready for the madness? |

A legal event cannot be cancelled after the permit has been obtained from the city and the venue has been fully paid for. Trancemission is 100% a go. PS: Learn how to spell moron. Last edited by Evolve; Aug 19, 05 at 01:56 PM. |

One thing that would NEVER happen at Maritime is it would never ever get over booked due to the building manager (Shannon Solby) being one hell of a responsible person. First when you mention that you wanna throw a show at the place she will put your name down as a tentative meaning you will get a call from her if someone else inquires that date if you have not put down a deposit. She's been doing this for years, not only throwing raves at the venue but other events. So keep this in mind that Maritime labour Centre would never get double booked unless she's high or drunk but that's very unlikely of her as she is a responsible person.

Over booking?
The city requires the outline plan for the party to be submitted 3 months ahead of the date... this includes confirmation from the venue, showing that its been run by the owner, a preferred security company, and a spec sheet for the various lights that are/may be used (so they can filter out dangerous lighting, example:too many strobes so it doesnt enduce seizures and cost the promoter extra $$ for constant first aid attendants.) |

it's actually 6-8 weeks prior to the event and if you cool with the city it's prolly around 5 weeks prior to the event lol |
