^ it's a great setup with great sound (although the speakers blew during premier which was kind of annoying hope they get those fixed). But I think most people's complaints are the uptight staff. When a lot of underground headz are used to nicer, more laid-back venues like Lotus, it's a bit of a shock to have to deal with such pricks sometimes :).

ed rush & optical have always been my #1 fav.
and i think atlantis is the best venue in the city. can't wait! |

went by last night and i thought i'd hit you some updates.... we had DJ Premier there earlier this month and all was lovely with the exception of a faulty cable that caused some clipping since then, they moved the DJ booth to a place that will make this venue VERY appealing to junglists who like to move on the dancefloor, with space... the faulty cable that cause the monitor to clip is long gone the head doorman has been replaced next thursday will be a contendor for drum & bass event of the year! also, for the people whose gripes with the venue outweigh the desire to attend the event....learn to deal with it life aint all roses - sometimes inconveniences will exist in your quest for fun in NY and London, getting your balls cupped during a search on the way in to a club is a regular occurance Last edited by spectrum; Dec 24, 05 at 05:39 PM. |

I always have to ask, I'm not used to living within four hours from a club and now I'm only an hour away.. is this 19+ show or all ages? 5 more months and it won't matter, I guess... but who knows when they'll be back in town, right?

Hope everyone has a good time at this show. Despite the updates that almost changed my mind, work is gonna keep my ass at home that night.
Good to hear the doorman is gone cuz he was an absolute asshole, but there is still a bunch of staff there that will be prevent you from going outside for a smoke, only to bust you and throw you out when u light one inside (its called an addiction, what do you think is gonna happen when you don't let people out). Make sure you are either up front when u light it, or have a couple friends helping keep an eye out. I'm sure the show will rock and people will have a good time. Someone throw out a boh on my behalf. |

Atlantis is one of the best if not the best clubs in the city. As a DJ its booth is amazing, the layout of the club is great and the lighting is the best hands down.
I was in Toronto all week, and went to a jungle show at System Soundbar. If you think the doormen at Atlantis are pricks go to Toronto. Besides all that... tomorrow is going to be bananas, I for one am stoked to play. -s |
